Bigben controller and ps3 i had this problem with bigben mega pack bought
with ps3 nov08 the problem is caused i find that the sony wireless controller
supplied has been already allocated as number 1 controller, this has to be
changed while the bigben matches the FIX: boot the machine with sony
controller and go into settings\accessory settings\reassign controllers\ and
re-assign the sony as number 3 (use left stick to move numbers
up/down) plug in the bigben receiver unit into a usb slot and then switch on
the bigben now the receiver light should now stop flashing and the bigben now
has a single light agains number 1 go again into re-assign controllers and
change the bigben to number 2 then re-assign the sony controller from number
3 to number 1 close down system re-boot using the sony PS button (the
bigben PS button does not boot PS3) the sony should now be indicating that it
is again number 1 the bigben receiver unit should have a steady red light
but the bigben will have all the lights flashing - click the PS button and
they will stop it now should only showing one light next to number 2, so is
assigned as number 2 conroller thats it ' Note: I wanted to use 2
controllers for the game 'littlebigplanet' Now if the two controllers are on,
the game asks to assign a profile for the other controller when it opens, so
then you choose another user (that u have created) Then another rag doll
drops into the pod that is controlled only by the bigben (user2)
I can not locate a Remote For PS3 By Gigaware now if its a controller Follow these steps
Connect to PS3 1. Turn on your console and plug the receiver into the first port on the console. The RX indicator on the receiver flashes. 2. Slide POWER ON/OFF to ON to turn on the controller. The controller’s POWER indicator lights and the 4 port indicators flash. 3. The controller connects with the receiver automatically after about 3 seconds. If successful, the RX indicator on the receiver lights. 4. Press the PS button to assign a controller number. The corresponding port indicator lights. Manual Search If you are unable to automatically connect, try manual adjustment. 1. Repeat steps 1 and 2 under “Connect to PS3.” 2. Press CONNECT on the receiver. The RX indicator flashes. 6 3. Press and hold SELECT and L3 (left analog stick) on the controller simultaneously for at least 3 seconds. When the RX indicator stays lit, release SELECT and L3. 4. Press the PS button to assign a controller number. The corresponding port indicator lights. n Notes: • Repeat “Connect to PS3“ or “Manual Search“ if the connection fails again. • If you purchase a new receiver for the controller, but have previously been using it with the supplied receiver, you will have to follow connection steps again. Reassigning a controller number 1. Press and hold the PS button for one second. The functional screen displays. Select “Controller Settings”, then “Reassign the controller.” Press X to confirm. 2. Use the D-pad to select the number that matches the controller’s port. 3. Press X again to confirm. The corresponding port indicator lights up. 7 Connect to PC 1. Plug the recevier into a PC’s USB port. The receiver’s RX indicator flashes. 2. Slide POWER ON/OFF to ON to turn on the controller. If connection is successful, the RX indicator on the receiver lights and the 4 port indicators on the controller turn off. Test the controller 1. Open the control panel on your PC, and double-click “Game Controllers.” Then click “Properties“ and the testing screen appears. 2. Press the buttons of the controller. After testing, press OK to exit. You are now ready to play games. Troubleshooting If the controller stops working at any time, or will not connect to PS3 or PC, follow “Manual Search“ steps on pages 5-6.
It seems that the recent PS3 Firmware update (2.80) reassigns your controllers. In order to fix this (I just did it 20 minutes ago and all is fine) is: Go to the XMB "Settings" Menu. Open "Accessory Settings" Using the controller you want to reassign, open "Reassign Controllers" Scroll to the number you want that controller to be (1,2,3 or 4) You are good to go!
Thanks to the Phone Help at Activision for this fix!
If you have a BD Remote or a USB PS2 to PS3 controller converter connected
to your PS3, it will automatically assign your PS3 controller to #2 to rectify this problem do the following:
Reassign BD Remote to #7.
USB PS2 to PS3 controller converter will need to be disconnected.
