That normally indicated a heating issue with the print head. Could be the printhead itself or an issue with the electronics module providing the source voltage for that heater
SOURCE: Xerox phaser 7760 saying "non-phaser imaging unit"
There is a snippet on the Xerox website to solve
imaging unit recognition problems, link below.
http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-7760/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLanguage=en_GB
Usually this problem only occurs if the NVRAM has been reset or the engine
board has been replaced without backing up the NVRAM.
You can download the snippet to your printer through Centreware or by
downloading the 'File Downloader' utility from the same page above.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: How do I print to
This is a silly problem to have to fix but here is how you do it.
Go to Printers and Faxes, right click and select properties.
Then select Printing Preferences.
In the window that pops up, there is a paper option, click on the drop down arrow and select advanced paper selection.
In the next window where it says Output paper type, select 'AUTOMATICALLY SELECT' as opposed to Printer Default type.
This will solve your issue with this printer. It's kind of lame to have to do this but it works.
SOURCE: how to reset admin password
xerox machines come with default passwords.
once that password is changed only the changer knows it.
should he forget or lose the password he flat has a problem.
the reset requires a xerox laptop/tech to reset and they "will bill" you for doing it.
