Problem with VPNand Linksys router WRT150N

Linksys router WRT150N. I Can connect via VPN when hardwired to modem. When I try to connect to VPN via wireless from my laptop it will connect to server (VPN) but I see little to no data is being received. Pretty sure the problem is with the modem. When I try to connect to website where I am using VPN it will not connect. All other websites and email work fine when connected.

If you can connect to VPN through modem and not through the router, that mean you only need to open the ports for your VPN. What VPN software are you using?

If that is the case you may forward ports on the router for VPN connection, try to open 47, 500 and 1723 all TCP and UDP protocol.

Here's what you need to do, check the IP address of the computer where you have the VPN software,

here's how:
click start> run> type cmd> hit okay
on the black screen put in ipconfig and check the IP address there,

> when you get the IP address then we can enable port forwarding on the router

> open IE on the working computer on the address bar, type 192.168.1.1

> nothing for username and password is admin in lower case

> then click on the applications and gaming tab on the router,

> and from there, example of how to field that in is like this,

> for aaplication name - VPN1
> for port it is 47 to 47
> for protocol it is BOTH
> for IP address ex. 192.168.1.XX - 192.168.1.100
> then check enable, do the same thing for the rest of the port.
> save the settings and try it again after.

> if it is still nothing, you may connect the computer that has the VPN connection directly to the modem and check if you will be able to connect via VPN

i'll wait for your response, thank you and have a nice day!

Can your laptop can see the linksys? If it can see it, the router maybe working. Try this, First, go to the router config then try to see if its connection to the modem is PPPoE. Then try to connect to the internet, if still not working try sending it to a technician or have a premium chat with me here.
