The service Manual says that if both the ready (Bulb) light and the exclamation light are both on it is a invalid engine
code /Invalid network code. But to clarify that you say they are both on and solid and not blinking. If they are you have a bad main board.
If they are blinking then the error is a Flushing /Resolution reduced error.
The cause is:
Printer is processing data or printing pages, but the resolution of a page in the current print job is reduced from 600 dots per inch (dpi) to 300 dpi to prevent a memory full error.
Solution is:
Wait until the ready light is displayed to print other jobs.
• Press and release the triangle button to cancel print job. It is the lower of the two buttons.
• Press and hold the traiangle button again to reset printer.
Hope this helps

I have been given a printer by my employer but had no operating instructions and I cannot get it to print out.A green light keeps flashing.Where can I download instructions and trouble shooting tips.

Gonna depend on the brand of the printer. Usually you can go to the manufacturer's website and do a search for the model name and the word "drivers" to find the correct drivers for that particular printer. Since it will print a test copy it sounds like the printer is fine and its just a question of communication with the printer. More information would be needed to help you. Is it connected Via USB or wireless? If its USB when you plug the printer in, your computer should discover it and take care of the rest, though that's not always the case. At the very least it should discover that you've connected something.

Based on some assumptions, if you're on a Windows based PC, and its connected via USB, right click "computer" or "my computer" under "Start" and click properties. In the window that opens you're looking for an option called "Device manager". If you click that, it'll list all of the hardware in use on your computer. Look for anything with a red x, exclamation point, or warning sign (looks like a yellow traffic sign). If you see any of those, its definitely a driver problem. Unfortunately, even if you don't see any of those it might still be a driver problem (gotta love Windows). So going forward we need more info. Are you on a Windows PC, Mac, or a Linux box? What brand and model is the printer? How are you connecting to the printer?

With that info we should be able to get you squared away.

When I try to print the triangle with an exclamation point flashes and doesn't print

This is the 'Attention' light. It indicates that the cartridge door is open, or that other errors exist.

Not great info, but you need to methodically eliminate the possible causes of the error....

1. Try putting some paper into the Manual feed tray / slot. It may be waiting for you to feed paper manually. Check your printer driver settings....

2. Press the 'Go' button. It will make it print from Tray2

3. Check your Printer driver settings, and 'Page set up' in the application

4. Switch the device off, and unplug the data cable.

5.Switch it back on.

6. Print a configuration page from the printer control panel by pressing the Go button (the green one) until the green Ready and Error light start blinking.

7. If it prints these pages successfully, then the problem may be elsewhere (PC software, application, corrupt data, etc) but check the settings on the Configuration page as well.
Make sure they match your system, paper size and type, feeding options etc....

The light first flashed orange causing printer to pause printing. After restarting the machine and printer several times, it is constantly flashing green. printer did not initiALISE.

The light flashing orange or green could mean a couple of things. First could mean that the paper size that you are using is not the same that you have configured on the printer or the paper size that you have selected on your software is not the same as the one configured in the printer. Also it could be a message of the toner low. You can try resetting he printer to factory defaults. Turn Printer off and open the front cover. Then Press and hold the Button with the Triangle and the Cancel Button the one with the X and turn the printer back on. You will have to keep the buttons pressed until the exclamation light comes up solid then release the two buttons and close the cover. That should reset the printer to factory Defaults.

i've looked it up and seems that it's a common problem and you need to flicker the CD door up and down a bit till your printer recognizes it's fully shut!!!

The light next to the triangular exclamation point is flashing and my printer won't print. The printer was fine up until yesterday, and then all of a sudden the light started flashing and the printer...

It could be out of toner...you only get a STARTER cartridge with new HPs

Hold down the green button for 10 seconds to see if it prints a test page.

BJC55 Printer not printing

There are some possibilities due to the above phenomena. Let's discuss about it:
1) If the POWER light is flashing green, then your printer is now warming up or performing maintenance procedure (replacing cartridge/tank) or cleaning print head, just wait a few seconds till the light stop flash. Also if the last page of a print job not done, this POWER light flashing green.
2) If the CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3 times, it mean your cartridge need to be install (especially the 1st time turn on printer) or cartridge being replaced, just install the cartridge and press RESUME to continue.
3) If both POWER light is flashing green and CHARGE/ERROR light is flashing orange with beep 3 times, then your printer may facing a very serious error and maybe need a replacement.

Hope these help.
