if it needs lubrication it would be a dry lubricant like graphite powder

Loud squeaking on my Reebok 9500 ES (three years old) from under the hood when the foot hits the treadmills - at various speeds and inclines.

HI,

Its time to lubricate your treadmill.
You must obtain the proper lubricant for your treadmill. There are several different types. Contact your manufacturer for what type is needed. Using the manufacturer provided allen wrench, loosen the walking belt approximately 10 full turns on each side of the rear roller. Apply approximately 1/2 ounce of lubricant directly in the middle of the walk area underneath the walking belt upon the deck. Retighten the rear roller 10 turns on each side. Run the treadmill at 6.0 mph for 2-3 minutes to spread the lubricant evenly. Wipe excess lube from the sides of the belt. Walk on treadmill to check for proper tension on belt.

Need lubrication for proform 785 belt

Some ProForm treadmills require lubrication every six months or so, depending on the usage amount. Lift the walking belt and feel on the underside of the belt. If it is dry, you should lubricate it. ProForm recommends you use 100-percent, non-petroleum silicone spray to lubricate the walking belt. Do not use wax or other lubricants, such as WD-40 or a Teflon-based spray

Electric motor overheats

This machine has what they call a thermal switch. It is designed to
shut the machine off if it gets too hot. This heat is caused by
friction. Friction is caused 99% of the time by the walking belt or
the drive belt. If it is the drive belt then it can be solved by
either applying a treadmill lubricant (must be made for treadmill
belts) or by purchasing a new belt. If you feel the underneath side
of the belt and you feel a screen door type feeling you just need
lubricant. If you feel a smooth surface you will probably need a
new belt. If you have lubricated in the past year and your belt has
the screen door feel then take off the motor hood cover and check
the drive belt. If it is worn then you will need to replace that.
You can purchase either of these products from the manufacturer, at www.iconservice.com. a couple of other places that may have them for discounts are www.ebay.com, www.fitnessrepairparts.com, or www.treadmilldoctors.com.

Lubricating a treadmill

The only lube required is between the walking belt and the deck. You can get the lube from iconfitness.com. Lift the walking belt and squirt some on the deck from each side, underneath the belt in the area where you usually walk. Walk on it for a few minutes to spread the lube around.

What should I do if the treadmill walking belt slows while in use?

Sounds like your walking belt is starting to get worn,.or you need to lubricate the walking belt. Try applying a silicon lubricant, or other lubricant called for in your manual, to the bottom side of the walking belt, and the surface it contacts. ( not the drive roller).

Every motorized treadmill must need some regular type of servicing. What is the procedure? What do I need to do to keep my treadmill in good working order?

The main thing to do is keep the walk belt area clean of all shoe rubber and lint, vacuum the tread melt and edges regularly. Most treadmills have a wax lubricant in the walk belt, youcan purchase this lubricant at store that sell treadmills or you can do an on line search for treadmill lubricant. If you lift the belt and feel under the platform you should feel a slight waxy film, if not you should add wax as needed, some wax kits come with instructions, but if you just apply it to the platform area underneath the walk belt where you feet normally land when to step forward that should be fine, walk on the treadmill for a few minutes to spread the wax evenly on the underside of the belt, other than that there is no other maintenance needed.
