I have a Uniden Cellink D1780-3BT system with 3 working handsets. I want to add Uniden DECT 6.0 D1780-3 handsets.

When I attempt to do so, I get a place handset in base message onscreen. After about 30 seconds, I get a registration failed message. 1. Are the 1780-3 handsets NOT compatible with 1780-3BT? 2. If compatible, what do I need to do? I have recharged the batteries, with the same results.

to you it might be unsatisfactory but I have both systems , the older one in the shed and the newer one in current use and I can assure that they are not compatible or I would have not bought the upgrade to meet the communication requirements

You will not be able to do this as they are two totally different machines with totally different operations although the 1780- appears the same it is the celllink and dect that makes the difference
you can however add as many hand sets of the same model as you wish to the same model
it has to do with updated circuitry required by the telecommunications department to operate on the system

Hello I am looking for an owner's manua for the Uniden Dect. 6.0, the three cordless phone system. can you help me please

Which specific Uniden DECT 6.0 phone do you have? Uniden makes several models that are sold with 3 handsets.

Most Uniden phone manuals are availble either at the product site (start at http://www.uniden.com and search for your model) or in their list of DECT phone manuals (http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl ) and scroll through the alphabetical list to your phone.

Note that often one manual is provided for a particular model even though it is sold with a different numbers of handsets in various sets. Ignore the number after the dash when looking up the model on the Uniden site. (The number indicates the number of handsets included originally.)

If you add a comment with your model number, I will look up the manual for you and provide the direct link.

I hope this helps.

I have Uniden DECT1480-3. I purchased two expandable handsets, but I cannot figure out how to get the new handsets to register with the base unit.

Up to 6 handsets can be registered with the DECT 1480 phones. I have the 5 phone unit and needed to add the 6th phone. All I got was "Searching" in the display and the battery wouldn't even charge!

So here's what you have to do to get additional phones (up to 6 units) to work with the base. If you can get past step 1, it's a snap...

Step 1: Place a charged battery in the handset. This could be a problem if all your handsets are not registered, since unregistered phones don't charge (who thought of that design?). What I did was SWAP the battery from an already registered and charged phone with the new unregistered phone.

Step 2: Here's where the magic happens. Press the 'END' and '#' keys simultaneously... hold them down until a System Reset menu appears. Select "Deregister HS" and press Menu.

Step 3: Now, do the same thing again (hold down END and #), but this time select Base Unavailable and press Menu. You will see Base Unavailable Yes/No... Select Yes. Then place the handset in the base, wait a few seconds, and Voila!. it's registered. You can even change handset numbers using this menu if you play around with it.

Thank you, helpful employee at Costco for supplying the magic code. And hey there, UNIDEN... including this in the operation manual would have saved many customers much grief with de-registered phones!

Enjoy!

I have lost my manual and i dont know how to record a personal message on my answering machine and how to enter the code to retrieve my messages from another phone.

From your handset, you just have to press the mute button, your phone should start telling you the time, date, ect. press the #5 key and then the #8 key and start recording your message. When finished press the # 8 key again. Hope this helps
