Oven lights but then flame goes out as soon as I release the knob

I can't get the oven to stay lit - when I push the knob in and rotate to light, I see and hear the oven ignite. It stays lit until I release the knob but then immediately goes out. It seems like a safety feature is malfunctioning.

Yes, pilot light sensor needs replacing or see if you can move it closer to the pilot flame, sometimes it can work as the pilot flame throw can become shorter from original factory throw over time

Push knob in on oven sparks & lights release knob flames go out

Often on ovens you have to hold the knob down for a period of time before the flame will stay alight.

Try getting the oven lit then holding the knob down for 30 seconds. That should be more than enough time if that is indeed the problem.

Is it a new oven or has the problem just arisen? It

Avanti G2002CW oven or broiler won't stay lit once ignited

I had this same issue on this same model (which is how I happened upon this page). I'm still not exactly sure why, but the problem resolved when I pushed down on the knob more firmly than I normally would to light the stove, and it seemed to slide in a little deeper. After that, the oven would light.

My electrolux oven won't stay lit

Right above your pilot light, there is a little temperature probe. It either needs to be cleaned, replaced, or adjusted closer to the top of the pilot flame. Hope this helps. Good luck!

My magic chef kitchen range oven won't turn on, no gas

Some of the models require you to push in the oven thermostat knob to set the pilot if it blows out. So try pushing in the knob and hold it while lighting the pilot. When the pilot lights continue to hold the knob in for about a minute. When you let go of the knob the pilot should stay lit. If it does not stay lit then try it one more time. If it continues to go out the thermocouple or aso might be bad and will need service.

Belling G755 Cooker oven wont stay lit

I'll give this a go! With a cooker like this, you depress and then turn the control knob, press the ignition button and continue to depress the control knob for a few seconds. This is because a device called a thermocouple is heated by the flame and you have to continue to depress the control knob so that sufficient gas flows to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermocouple does not get hot or stay hot then the gas valve is automatically closed - stopping the gas. The thermocouple is a 'flame failure' safety device. If the gas gets cut off then the flame goes out and the thermocouple goes cold switching off the gas valve automatically. However, you are having to try and manually keep the gas going for a good five minutes. I would think that there is either a problem with the thermocouple or the gas control valve! Flame will not stay lit in oven of countrychef 100g

Yes very simple. There is a bulb the flame is heating with a small tube that runs to the gas valve this is the saftey sensor that is bad called a thermo-couple , they are common to go out and should be easy to find online. Let me know if you have any other questions.
