This TV could have one of several problems including but not limited to; convergence IC's,bad capacitors, shorted horizontal output transistor. Call a good TV Tech. Check with the BBB before you decide on one.
A service manual won't help you on this and yes it's most likely the convergence amps. That unit takes two stk392-110 Sanyo amps. You can substitue with stk392-150's or 180's also... Personally I'd get them from acme sales in florida along with any solder, de-soldering braid, heat sink compound and other supplies you'll need for the job. Acme, because you are assured of getting originals not some chineese knock-offs.
I'd suggest a package of 1.8 ohm/2w resistors, looks like that's what this unit uses in the yoke return circuit and they commonly have failed, and likely the cause for the amp failure. You might also take a meter to any picos in the circuit. F850, 851, 852 and see if any of them are open. If the amp opened you're okay, but if it went to ground it may have opened a fuse.
I will send the manual via Pando - so if you don't already have Pando go there first and download their free program.

A 57H81 is not easily disassembled and I wouldn't suggest that over getting a pair of forearm forklifts and a couple of guys to load it in the back of a pickup...
The sevice manual will not show the brakdown you need - and it's not really practical. Guess that's why movers should stick to moving and I'll stick to Tv repair... http://www.buystraps.com/Default.asp?tcode=asp&bhcp=1

they send the instalation instructions with the ICs , which tells you what tools you would need and exactly how to replace them. yes both Ics should be repalced together as they work together to control the 3rd color. yes STK392-110 are the correct ICs for your model.
You will need a service manual to troubleshoot the set to be able to find whats going on with it . Its in shutdown mode with the led flashing. A good manual is available at this link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Unstable picture, wavy, jittery, and loss of sync are a symptom of bad capacitors in the hyper module. The problem is worse when the set is cold, but when warm the sympton gets less or goes away. In the latter stages the problem never gets better even after the set has been on for hours. There are about 6 surface mounted caps (10mf/16) inside the shielded Hyper module. The module is vertically mounted behind the jack panel and can be unplugged from its socket after unsoldering the 4 anchor tabs on the bottom side of the PCB. This type of repair should be made by a qualified technician do to the complexity of chassis removal and expert soldering skills.
Send me your email address and I'll send you a Pando link to download the schematic...
The caps you're looking to find are Cx261, Cx270, Cx230, Cx178, Cx221, Cx250, Cx670, Cx241, Cx541. You might also check C514 and C5030 all are 10uf\16v but be VERY careful not to screw-up the pads lifing the smd caps in that module.

I just bought a service manual on Ebay. I'm not at home so I don't remember the vendors name, however it was $8.50 and the documentation seems complete. I also just found this site:
www.john-oliver.net/video/50H81.pdf
which contains a block diagram but not the full set of schematics. If you really need the schematics let me know and try and get them to you.
