Samsung LNT4066F 40 in. LCD Television Logo

Billy Jones Posted on Dec 14, 2015

I have a Samsung LNT4066 LCD television. The Settings are set to Default Settings(Dynamic Light, COOL 1, etc) and I am still getting a reddish tint across the whole Picture. What is wrong?

First, I had the clicking noise when it powered up. Eventually the picture just died but the tv would still try to power on, so I called a repairman. He replaced the capacitors and left. When I turned on the set after that, I had a red tint on everything. I have played around with the settings to try to fix the tint, however certain colors are still too red. Now, for the purposes of asking for help, The settings have been reset to default settings.

Looking at the board, he replaced CM811,CM812, CM817, and CS806. These now have a 25V 2200microF, 25V 2200microF, 50V 1000microF, and 50V 1000microF capacitor Respectively. Would you happen to know the correct size for them?

The repair man may have used the wrong size capacitors.

Best tv settings for samsung LE40A457

Best is kind of subjective since each person's eyes are different. If you are looking for a bright and vivid picture, you can go to the picture mode and change it to that setting. Usually it is called something like "Vivid" or "Dynamic." Besides that, it is all user preference. Most people prefer to just use the factory default settings.

Ideal settings for Samsung LN-T 4234H

sure, lcd tvs need to be tweeked depending on the light in the room the darker the worse the picture. so try this
from standard:
picture: 85 to 95 %
brightness: 45% or adjust the black of the video to the black of the pilar bars to equilize them.
color: 32 to 38% or until the flesh tones are not so hot
sharpness: low 10%
tint: always to center
color temp: cool1
back lamp ( if avalible) low when lights are dim, high when lights are bright.
the problem with LCD is they don't look so good with dark sceens. the contast ratio is very low. natively 3000:1 aas compaired to plasma or other direct view TVs. the LCD is back lite and the thin materal of the LCD can not completely block the back light from coming thru. there for the complete "black screen" is illuminated "blue". the best thing is to keep the lights on bright in the room for the best picture.

Hitachi 43FDX20B t.v. has reddish tint

This can be one of two things, I think this set was manufactured in 02 so it would be atleast 6yr.old so saying that could be 1. Fluid contamination problem or 2. Clean Spark gaps problems. The first is when you observe the fluid above the CRT's and see if it looks cloudy and contaminated. 2. The cleaning of the spark gaps are most likely the problem. But this requires knowledge of what to do and what not to do. This is a Dangerous area full of High Voltage. So you would need to know how to discharge set before servicing. Carefully not to damage anode leads to set. For more info on this you can visit ctechnicians.com
