SOURCE: removing base from tv
I researched this problem on the net and found the solution. Someone on one of the posts said the base can be removed by taking out four screws - all from the back of the TV. One screw is the one closest to the power plug, the next screw is beside it, the remaining two screws are the corresponding screws on the opposite side of the base panel (still on the back of the TV). Once these screws are removed the base comes off including the mounting bolt and the rectangular shaped plastic panel. There are no electronics or any components inside the base panel, only the bolt and plastic base which are held on by the four aforementioned screws. It was very easy to remove!

just spoke with a Coby technician. Where the base connects to the TV you can literally just squeeze in those the plastic pieces and they come right off. After that just unscrew the screws underneath. Just did it and it was very easy.
SOURCE: I cant remove the base
Hi. On the back panel just above the inputs and in the centre of the unit you will see 5 X phillips head screws (4 in a square pattern and 1 in the center of these). If you remove these screws completely the base will withdraw from the unit. Note that the washers will be a tight fit when removing and only just fit through the rear panel so use a magnetic driver or blue tack to help. Cheers. Slavious.
