SOURCE: Norstar Mailbox Problem

The mailboxes don't need to have saved messages, to be full. More then likely what is happening is that when people call in, they are getting a generic/Auto Attendant vm box, and that one is full. Try checking vm box #100, or #10. That is the Nortel standard general delivery vm box. Please let me know is this helps, or if you more help.

When calling voicemail I receive a message after entering my access code that states "I'm sorry, I can't talk to you right now"

this means the voicemail card is full. look at all extensions mailboxes or a general message mailbox and delete all the messages and try again. If it is no good still you will need to get in the admin mailbox and change your mailbox to allow messages.

Deleting messages (memory may be full).

Verify you do not have old messages on the the system. After the system plays all new messages, press Play/Stop again or from the handset Select 2:Play.If you find messages, delete them during or after they play.

After you listen to your messages, the voice message icon turns off. If it doesn't or if you can not receive messages, you should try to reset it: With the phone in standby, open the menu and select Global Setup; select VMWI Reset, then select Yes.

Make sure the Record Time is not set to Announce Only.

At the main greeting dial * then the system admin mailbox number which is 99 for 2 digit ext numbers or 999 for 3 digit ext numbers or 9999 for 4 digit ext numbers then you will be prompted for the system admin passcode(default 1234). Press 2 for add/edit/delete (Never press 1 for new installation or you could delete all current voicemail programming and messages). Press 2 to edit mailbox, you will be prompted for the mailbox to edit, enter the mailbox number. Iam connected to a computer with the same line going to my telephone so every time I get a message it says my mailbox is full just like it does when I am the computer when someone calls.

You are getting a message saying "mailbox is full" when you receive a message, right? What kind of message is that? Is it a text or an email message?

If that's an email message, you may need to delete all of the sent items and see if you will get the same problem. If it's a text message, delete the copy of sent text messages.

Usually, sent items does not look like it's eating up your storage, but the truth is, it's causing your mailbox to get full.

Thank you and good luck!

T7208 nortel network general voicemail locked

Generally, you dial feature 981 to get in, then extension number and password. If you have no new messages it will say that, then give you the option to review old messages. To delete a message you press 76. If that doesn't work, login to your mailbox, press 8* then 6 to get to "go to message" then press the message number and #. If you have an on-site administrator, they can delete your mailbox as well, otherwise you will have to call your tech help service and have them erase it remotely.

Deleting voicemail

The only way I know to delete all at once is to have the system coordinator delete your mailbox and then re-install it. Most voicemail systems require you delete messages one at a time so you do noy accidently delete something you really wanted to keep. If your mailbox is deleted it will require you going through the set up process again ( message, nane and security code ). Good Luck. ....Mike
