Method 1. Disconnect and reconnect printer, remove the trapped paper
First of all, cancel all print jobs. Disconnect the USB cables and other cables connected to your printer. Make sure you disconnect the printer from your PC as well. Open the printer and carefully remove any trapped paper. Remove and reinsert the cartridges. Press the Power button on the printer to discard any debris that may remain in the printer. Insert the cables again, connect them to the computer. Then load paper and try printing another document to see if the problem has been fixed.
Method 2. An alternative method to turn your printer on and off
Press the Off button on your printer to turn it off. Now, remove all the cables that are connected. Wait about two minutes (do nothing!) Press the On / Off button and hold it for 1 minute. Keep the button pressed and plug the power cord into your printer at the same time. You can ask someone to help you with it. After connecting the cable, keep the Power button pressed for one more minute. Release it later. Plug your printer into your computer, plug in any other cables you've removed, and try printing a document to see if the 0x97 error persists.
