60000 BTU mitsubishi air.con is showing P8 error code and is blowing only hot air even temperature is set at 16 degrees. What might be the cause and how to rectify it.

Sounds like the compressor is not running. This model had lots of problems with over heating. It also will never really blow more than a moderate cooling through it. Since you have cleaned all the filters and is still 100 deg, I believe the failure will be the compressor itself or the capacitor.

If you find an oily residue in the drain or on the pipes, it may have simply leaked the refrigerant out. Good Luck!

One reason could be a shortage of refrigerant. Another could be incorrect mode selection? Or the reverse valve which changes the unit from cooling to heating is either not being energised or may be blocked and would have to be replaced.

Clean you filter and clean the area under the intake duck it will solve your problem

P8 showing on air cond and air con is not working

P8-Abnormality in outdoor unit.

Solution:
1) Check the indoor/outdoor connecting wire in proper point.
2) Change the connection of electric wiring, if reversed phase.
3) Check the protection device, if malfunction, replace it.
4) Measure the resistance of the outdoor coil thermistor.
If the resistance is normal, replace the
outdoor controller board

I have a 24 ton mini split, that has never worked correct. It used to blow cold air, but only for a little while, then it set error codes including p4, and p8. The heat functioned used to work ok. Now it...

Code P8
Error detail Abnormality of pipe temperature.
Inspected unit Indoor. Due to non condensable gas/over charged/condenser dust blocked.
For non condensable gas, remove gas and flush out and then recharge gas./remove over charged gas/clean condenser coil

P8 eroor code

P8 error is abnormal pipe temperature indoor. If you are running it on heating P8 error will appear because the disc pressure is too high. It could be overcharged.
