The digital mechanism is dead.

t sounds like the digital display of your watch stopped working after a watchmaker replaced the normal battery and accidentally cut the cable connected to the rechargeable battery. To address this issue, you may need to take the following steps:
  1. Return to the Watchmaker: First, I would recommend returning to the watchmaker who performed the battery replacement and inform them about the issue. They should take responsibility for any damage caused during the battery replacement and rectify the problem.
  2. Check Warranty: If your watch is under warranty, contact the manufacturer or authorized service center to have the issue resolved. Cutting the cable during a battery replacement should not happen with a professional service and might be covered under warranty.
  3. Request a Repair or Replacement: If neither of the above options is viable, you may need to seek a watch repair specialist or a technician who can examine the watch's internal components and assess the damage. They can either repair the cut cable or replace the damaged digital mechanism.
  4. Be Prepared for Costs: Depending on the extent of the damage and the watch's value, repairing or replacing the digital mechanism may come with associated costs. Be sure to ask for an estimate before proceeding with any repairs.
It's essential to keep all communication and records related to the battery replacement and subsequent damage to ensure a smooth resolution of the issue. Ultimately, it's the responsibility of the watchmaker to address and rectify any damage that occurred during the battery replacement process.

Lost stem on watch. can i get replacement? can i install myself?

mcdevito75 Here, Pulsar a quartz watch. If you lost the stem, the mechanism holding it into the watch maybe damaged, this mechanism also turns your Pulsar watch on / off. Best Bet, visit a small watch repair shop in your area, have them take a look at your Pulsar watch. You could replace the stem yourself but first you"d need the right size stem, (hard to get) then if the mechanism holding the stem in is damaged you"ve wasted your time. Your local small watch repair shop can let you know, and they usually don"t charge to have a look.

The only thing that I could advise you is contact Vicence directly so they could advice you what to do and where to bring the watch. I believe there are service centers nearby that could fix the watch. You can send them emails or call them. Below is the link to their site.

Date and time on my new watch do not change

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like part of the mechanism has broken in your Timex watch, and, if so too repair it may cost twice a new Timex watch, chances are this is why watch shops have told you to return the watch to Timex, and without a warrantee, even timex will charge for the repair. Ask the watch repair shop straight out if it pays to repair your watch, chances are no. Also you can try to contact Timex online at Timex watch.com or by phone.

I believe you are just outside your warranty. Its time to see a watch maker/technician about repairing the watch. Often times slowing is as easy to fix as lubricating the movement and forcing the gear train through the use of a cyclonic device. This fix takes minutes and is very cost effective. If the slowing is due t circuit board issues or a more sever gear train problem then the movement will need to be overhauled. I suggest comparing this cost to the cost of a replacement movement.

Stopped running

Unfortunately watch service is often calculated based on the value of the watch, as insurance, and quality/cost of materials and spares and tools are factors. With the correct lubricant there should be no reason why a quality watch should need that particular job done so regularly, but a 4/5-yearly service is not a bad idea at all, as most problems with this sort of watch can be avoided with regular maintenance. Hope this helps :)
