The 5100 came with 40 GB as standard but on some higher end models, came with 160 GB, since you have Windows XP with service pack 2. There should be no reason why you cannot stuff it with as much as you want. The only other thing you might want to consider doing is a BIOS update from HP support. I'll give you the link below, just make sure when you do a BIOS update that there are no power outages or you have a direct on battery backup, a bad bios update will turn your computer into a paperweight. Your memory and operating system will support a large hard drive though.

Compaq dc 7600 small form factor, front usb and audio not recognized

Hello,
I am assuming you have moved the board to another case and have connected front-mounted card readers etc. but none are working. I would check in device manager and see if there are any devices with exclamation points beside them.....which would indicate that windows sees the device, but that you are missing some of the drivers for the board which can be downloaded from HP. If you have devices in device manager that are labelled "unknown device", then a program like SIW or unknown devices may help you determine which drivers to get. A safe bet would be to go to HP's download section and get everything available for that board.

Also, check the bios and ensure that "plug and play OS" is set to on or yes

I would also look in the bios/setup and ensure that the connectors on the board are actually turned on. USB headers on motherboards are pretty generic, meaning that you should be able to plug in pretty much any front panel device (audio, card readers, usb).

Please check these things and get back to me. If you need instructions on how to do any of this stuff, then get back to me and I will be happy to help further.

Hope this helps!!

I inserted my sandisk 4gb sd hc card into the front of my computer. I don't know how to pull the pictures up. There is a place to put it.it says sd/mini the card fits in it. I then click on starrt and...

most card readers can't read sdhc cards. are you sure yours can, it's not the same as sd (different voltages and stuff) Your's does not sound like it can from the labelling you describe. you are going to have to buy a reader. They are really cheap ebay or ebuyer etc etc. The other option is to connect your camera directly to the pc by usb.

Cant connect wireless

If the stick is the solution, why are you avoiding the solution?

From what you have said, the internal wifi in the Evo doesn't work, while
an external usb stick does.

Assuming that your internal wifi is properly configured and functional, it is
incapable of picking up your home wifi signal, though it might be functional in other situations ... Buying an external usb stick gives you a better antenna position and takes nothing away from your system, while adding functionality and sheilding the innards of your system from viral
attack as a first line of attack that is detachable.

Buy the USB stick.

Mice don't normally need a driver unless you wish to assign special buttons and clicks, assuming your mouse is a PS2 connection, try a USB one instead, that should work.
