How do I fix the TV if it wont power on

Try pulling plug of set while it is turned on. then push and hold the power button for a few minutes. Then reattached power line and turn on. If that does not work, contact the mfg to ask for the hidden code , if one, to reset set to factory defaults.

try a warranty claim or have a tv shop do an estimate.

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

what is the model of your tv?

This model like most of these sets uses up to 3 mechanical relays; they are black and square (follow power cord into set) and have a history of either opening or not when in use---I have seen several where it would not shut off or turn on etc where you could tap on the relay and the set would work..
The only other reason would be a bad solder connection in the same area---tap and the set works and it is either the relay or a bad solder connection.

The click is the relay shutting off and points to where your problem is.

try this:
With tv powered on, push channel + and action buttons at same time.
While still pushing action button, lift channnel + button and push POWER button until appear The user´s menu on the screen.
Now the tv was reseted at factory values.
To Do tv set up.

I have the same problem, push button to turn on tv but it only does a click like it is going to turn on and then another click bit it wont turn on. Finally a red light is just blinking.

Any suggestions, is there a freeze button or code that I need to push.

if you can not turn on TV set with the power button on the TV its not astandby problem as this would by pass the standby. Theres most protec,on a set of this age, top have a poiwer regulator,vertical,horzontal/chcroma problem and is goingto need a trained tech to assist you in this repair. www.afiata.com
