Screen works then goes blank. Will not start unless it has been powered off for a period of time. Seems to go off after screen saver appears, but have connected to other computers and the screen goes blank after a period of time. The time when the display is working can be a short or long time (up to an hour or more).

I have not yet solved the problem. They are brand new monitors. Don´t see why I should need to pay to get them to work. I have worked with computers for years and years. Never before saw a monitor that didn´t work when it was new unless of course it was defective. Not your porblem I realize. I need Samsung to help me or stand behind it.
Thanks so much,
Bruce

Hello,
It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors
will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called
capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are
good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work
fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -
connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the
same way. Look in our monitor repair section for step by step repair guide for this model it should be the same power supply as the 930. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Hello,
Your power supply is going out. LCD monitors have a common issue. The heat buildup in the in the cases cause parts called capacitors to overheat and bulge. When they bulge out the don't operate properly and cause the power supply to not start up correctly or not at all. First thing check the warranty, Most Samsung units have a 3year parts and labor warranty. If it is out of warranty then repair it yourself. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Check out our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com We don't have your exact monitor but you should be able to look at other Samsung guide we have posted and see the parts that need to be replaced. Open your case and replace any capacitors that are bulging and you should be back going again. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for you unit, check our site for details.
I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.
