Picture problems when i turn on the tv the picture bends at the sides and has now left a 1" gap on the left side of the tv.

  • Anonymous Nov 22, 2007

My picture has a blue hill across the bottom of screen. Picture is green with pink double vision wording. Whats up with it?

  • Ironhorse87 Nov 24, 2007

Yes! I have the same problem with the blue hill on bottom of screen. I found that if you turn it off and on repeatedly, the problem goes away and sometimes comes back, but eventually it is OK after awhile. However, if you turn it off for awhile the problem comes back. Best thing to do is turn it on, wait about ten minutes, then turn it off, then back on. You may have to do this several times until the problem goes away. I have had this set for a little over 3 years and this just started about 8 days ago. I bought a 4 year warranty, so i am covered. This TV has gotten alot of bad reviews. I like the design, but just can't deal with the problems.

KP-57HW40 rear projection TV colors out of alignment and warped

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Rca p61960 projection tv

That sounds like a Pincushion problem if you having bowing. It's probably bad caps and diodes on the deflection module. This is not an easy fix. If you know how to read a diode and you visually inspected the caps you might have some chance of fixing it yourself.

LG Plasma picture probles

hi there. I have this same TV, and the exact same problem. Last night, i was playing around with it, took off the entire back of it to see if I could fix it. After a few minutes of tinkering, I found that if I apply pressure to the TV in a specific way, the left side of the picture comes back. Here's what I did: standing in front of the TV, I hold the top of it, in the middle with my right hand, and the upper left corner with my left hand. Then, I gently apply pressure, forward (away from me) with my right hand, and backwards (toward me) with my left hand. Sort of like trying to "bend" the screen. At some point, the picture comes back .. . the problem is, if I let go, then the colored lines come back . . . maybe one can mount it on a wall in such a way that the pressure is still there . .. i haven't tried. That's all I got.

Weird arch like lines

Hello HollyJ, If possible can you post a picture of the problem, It would help in determining if this is a convergence problem or a pincushion circuit problem. You description while good is a little to general to many possible issues. This sounds like a defection issue but I would not be able to tell unitl I see a picture of the screen, take the picture with a digital camera and the post it to the page using the add image link on the right side of the dialog box. Thank you, Shuttle83,
