Sony bravia kdl55hx729 3d led tv turns on 3 seconds shows picture than four red flashes

Hello,
the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.

My 32" Element LCD tv is broken. One night I was watching tv and all teh sudden there was blue, red and yellow lines running horizontally across teh screen, audio was fine. I turned it off and unplugged...

Yes!
It has suffered a breakdown in the power supply and the damage has also spread as far as the sustain boards that control video and convergence. This is not a DIY and the repair for parts is $300 + labour. However, get a few quotes. At least a 32 in is a little more transportable than a 6' model

The tv will turn off on it's own & you have to use the power switch on the back of the tv to get the green light on the front of the tv to "blink" again, or in otherwords be ready to turn on. Today in fact, the tv has turned off so much that I have given up on watching tv...
