Most likely one or more of the spokes is bent on the print wheel. Remove the wheel and turn it by hand you can usually straighten them. The vertical lines are from the face of the hammer when it misses the letter.

Have you set the paper size correctly? If you try to print on A4 and the printer is set to "letter" - which is the default for a number of printers. Also check that "Borderless" is selected in the driver.
Despite much deep cleaning, the printer is still not printing correctly - it misses out colours, letters etc. Do we need a new head, and how do we fix it please.
