Hell, yes. Panasonic Plasmas are great. I have the TC-60PS34. The picture is fantastic. It's true that someday 4k may be a better picture (they upgrade any picture to some degree) but until there is more 4k programming created, the plasma pic is too die for. Also, there are not produced anymore. The OLEDs will be an improvement in a few yrs but for $200 you can't go wrong. You will love the pic.

Panasonic plasma 50PZ85 power led blink 10 times

Either a bad power supply or a bad processor board.
A Good Service Shop should know what the 10 blinks are indicating.
May be a repair cost between $200 and 400 dollars.

Logic board failure

You can do the repair yourself, you need about 3 hours to take apart and re-install. Keep a note of every screw, there are alot of them.

The board may be stuck on by some di-electric grease so pry it off carefully making certain all screws are off, check behind wires etc...

Replace with 6781QCH038C not the 060Q it will not work with LG's but will work for Vizio's

You can purchase the plasma panel for $1094.43 from tritronicsinc.com using the part number: MD42H11A1J. This part has a dud value of $200 which means that you will get a $200 refund once the bad one is returned.

4 blinking lights

I fixed it myself!
I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement Power Board for AUS$290 and swapped it out myself.
Only took ten minutes, most of that time was removing and replacing the 101 screws holding the back panel on!
Working fine again now.
I did sit the two boards side by side and noticed the new one had moved some of the micro components from the back of the board to the front plus some other small component changes.
If your handy with a screw driver and have some technical knowhow I recommend having a go at fixing it yourself as it wasn't hard and probably saved $200 in service charges (all this assuming you are out of warranty!)

Panasonic th-42pz77u 42ed

Pin 93 of the MPU IC9003 monitors the status of the SC, SU, SD board. During normal operation, the photo-coupler PC6480 outputs a low to pin 93. If the SC, SU, or SD board becomes defective, a high is provided to pin 93. As a result, the unit shuts down and the power LED blinks 7 times.
