This is and error that means the hard drive needs formatting. It's in 0-9 mode 630 - 2. then hit next or set. This should format it. If that don't work, you need a new hard drive and it needs to be formatted correctly.

Toshiba REGZA 42XV545U GOES ON AND OFF.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

My dell inspiron 1454 keeps looping on the boot up screen, then just goes back to the windows has filed to start screen..

Hi Charlotte,

The video doesn't show what you describe. The video shows that Windows is loading. Try booting in safe mode. Here's how:

Power up the machine. When the Dell logo appears, start tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears amd choose "Windows Safe Mode." Once windows starts, backup your data just in case. Then try to determine what it was you did last that may have caused the problem. Then try to start normally.

Hope this helps

My toshiba tablet won't let me go past the welcome screen

If this is under warranty take it back. If it isn't power the unit on with just the battery powering the unit. When you see the Windows splash screen drop the battery out after the screen goes black put the battery back in and press the power button. This should bring up the on screen menu telling you it failed to start or shut down correctly. Select, Boot in Safe Mode and see if the system will power on. If that fails you need to do a system restore. To access system restore options power the unit on and press and hold the F10 key, this will bring up the restore Windows options. From that menu select to restore your operating system. If that fails you will have to do a complete restore to factory default settings. If that fails you will have to replace the hard drive.

Restart your computer and insert the installation DVD into your DVD drive. MAke sure your BIOS settings are set to boot from DVD drive first. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the OS.
If you don't have a OS installation disk, use the recovery disk tha came with your computer or push the recovery button when you turn on your computer. The most common keys used are F10, F11, and F12.
