Hi Vinoth, if this has not been resolved I would advise you to disconnect the unit from the AC Outlet for at least an hour and then see if it is out of Protect Mode, Thanks, JT

SOURCE: Protection mode

I banged my head against the wall on this same issue and finally realized that my rear surround speakers were mixed. My rear right was wired to rear left because I was turning around to see L and R. It would shut off at about volume level 40, which was loud but not rumbling. It now ROCKS and is in no way a problem with heat. I have always run it with the cabinet open to allow air to circulate.

SOURCE: stuck in protect mode

i believe protect mode is because you have the wrong impedence speakers, they are too low (4 ohm? 6 ohm?) it chols work with 8 ohm speakers

I just hooked up my old Onkyo TX-8511 receiver to my bose speakers, which is also hooked up to a subwolfer. When I turn the volume up the system goes into protect mode. Any solutions.

Just check your speaker cabling again. Make sure that all of them are seated properly, none is touching each other or the body of receiver. Rewire if necessary..
Are you using banana plugs for connecting speaker or just directly. Some times even a little tiny wire touching the receiver could trigger the protect mode. Be careful, since protect mode is sometimes not fast enough and it could blown a few trasistors in the power circuit.

Otherwise, do your bose speakers play out load on other systems?
