Regrigerator water pipe is broken

Since unfiltered water went through it for a couple days, I would guess you have mineral build up. If this is the case, be careful about trying to use it. There are certain products you can buy to unclog the pipes. Most will have you pour them down through the pipes connected to the polishing filter. If you can take the pipes apart, I suggest going pipe by pipe to see where the build up is.

Mine did the same thing. Pull refrigerator out so that you can access the back. Take off lower dust cover , it's black and has several small screws. Once removed, you can see a pvc pipe running from top to bottom. Remove screw from clamp that holds pvc pipe vertical. Remove pvc pipe from top of refrigerator, then remove the top piece that was attached to pvc pipe. You may need to turn 1/4 turn counter clockwise to remove. Once removed, clean these 2 pieces thoroughly to remove any blockages. Install in reverse order and hopefully this fixes your water problem. This pvc pipe runs to a pan that water pools in and evaporates. If the water can't get here, it has to go somewhere.

1. • 1 Locate the cold water line as close to the appliance as possible
     attach the water valve to the cold water line and tighten screws.
     turn the valve all the way in so it pierces the pipe.
     
   • 2 Attach the water line to the new valve.
     
   • 3 Bring the water line up to the appliance and attach the water line to the back fitting on the water valve on the refrigerator.
     After lines are attached turn water on and test for leaks
     Purge line by extracting at least 1 gal of water through dispenser.

Find your route to the water line. Drill a hole in the floor behind the refrigerator and thread the copper tubing into the basement. Go to the basement and find the main water line and pull the copper tubing to it.

Step 2
Attach pipe to refrigerator. Go back up to the kitchen and attach the end of the copper tubing to the water pipe of the refrigerator. You can use a nut and ferrule to connect the tube to the fridge. Make sure to leave a little bit of copper tubing coiled behind the fridge so as to not disconnect the tubing when moving the fridge.

Step 3
Turn off the water. With the fridge all hooked up, go back to the basement and turn off the water. Find the cold water pipe and drill a 1/4-inch hole to accommodate the copper tubing.

Step 4
Attach valve to pipe. You need to attach the water valve to the main pipe. This allows you to control the flow of water to the refrigerator. Make sure you have a gasket to seal between the valve and main water pipe.

Step 5
Connect the copper tubing. With the valve connected to the main water pipe, connect the copper tubing using a clamp. This should be everything you need. Turn on the main water and you should be able to get a glass of water, but it will take an hour or two for the ice cubes to freeze.

filter cracked because it froze . changing the filter is not enough change the housing . as the lines are frozen and wll brake . mm

the freon pipes have a leak go to a appliance store and get new ones

The water pipe connection to the filter is a one way fitting which means that the more one pulls to free the pipe, the more the filter connection grips it. There is a circlip on each end of the filter - push the circlip firmly in towards the filter while pulling the pipe free, it should come free easily. Needs 3 hands, two to depress the circlip and one to pull the pipe free. Preferably put a container under the filter (there can be a bit of spillage) while you're replacing it and remember to test the connections once you've fitted the new filter before pushing the fridge back into place.

Samsung's instructions should be clearer.

Cut off a piece of line and go to a good hardware store, they can show you how to fix it. Need a coupling, and a nut and ferrel. House water line goes on one end of coupling, nut and ferrel on the broken water line on fridge. A good hardware store will be able to show you how to fix.

if the lines are plastic then it has to do with your water supply line. is the supply a saddle type valve in your basement and is it connected to a copper pipe or a galvanized steel pipe?
