Has staples in it makes the sound as if stapling but it is not. It has no jams.

Usually a jammed or bent staple in the throat at the end.

Check for a broken piece of a staple jamming it.

The most common cause of the gun not firing is loading it with the wrong staples. Look at the packaging for the staples and see if it lists the gun. Staples are NOT universal and are make for specific staple guns.

It "sounds like" it is jammed. You may have to pull out the staple with needle nosed pliers. e`1

staple guns are feed from the rear by a spring. check and see that the spring is still douing its job. if this isa air feed,inpact gunn, clean ejector ports and staple slide.

jl open up the slide ,there is a spring end that pushes the staples into the head ,that sticks in the rail a small screwdriver will release it,it will get stuck again but now you know the prob.

Take out the small bolt that is secured with a nut at the back of the gun (at the end where you feed the staples) -- then drop the inset. Now you have access to the jammed area. Clear out jammed staples and put the stapler back together. Easiest way is to hold the nut and turn the bolt from the other side.

There were a few staples left in the cartridge when the stapler stopped working. I went thru all the steps on bottom for stapler after changing the cartridge with two different cartridges. It makes the noise and puts marks in the paper, but no staples come out of it.
