THROUGH F12 AT STARTUP

To access the System Restore, Refresh and Reset options using the F12 option at startup, perform the following:
  1. If not already, ensure the computer is completely shut down. How To: Shut Down a Laptop with Windows 8
  2. Now restart the computer by pressing the power button - IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F12 key on the keyboard until the "Boot Menu" screen appears.
  3. Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery> and press "Enter".
  4. On the next screen you are asked to confirm if you want to continue with recovery. Select "Yes".
  5. The computer will bring you to the Advanced startup screen.
  6. Select Troubleshoot. Under Troubleshoot you will see "Refresh" and "Reset".
  7. Select "Advanced options." Located here is "System Restore."

Yo brian, for that isues i can suggest if you know basic of an computer you can do it easly, but if not dont worry you can follow this step at

if you can follow the instruction step by step gently those problem will solve, but if it troublesome, you can go to the computer service to unlock the password and pay a few buck.

Does my toshiba satellite c855d have hdmi output

Hi Alex,
The Toshiba C855D-S5320 does. Can you confirm the type of C855D you have. With the description of the plate I doubt your model does. On the one I use, I knowingly gave up touch screen for HDMI with budget I had. I have it connected to a 24" ASUS screen and I'm very happy with HDMI. Good luck! Toshiba C855D S5320 Laptop

Step 2: Burn bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive
Step 3: BIOS setting

Factory restore

On a laptop there is no factory setting reset option (unless you mean bios reset ). To get the laptop back to the initial 'as new' condition you need to re-install the system using the recovery disk on startup. Put recovery cd 1 inside laptop cd drive and restart the computer. Follow instructions for complete restore.
If you do complete restore you can lose all your data.
