Dryer shutoff , but will restart ok

Sounds like the fuel inlet shutoff is only partially open

Check the idle speed - it may be set too low. Also check for water in the gas, and add some "gas line antifreeze" if you find some there.

What your describing is a defective motor that the bearing on the motor are very tight...what happens when the bearing are tight on a motor is that it will start for a few minutes then the motor will get very hot and shutoff until its cool and restart only to quickly shutoff again when it get too hot and that continutes. Th eremedy that the motor would need to be replaced.

I had a similar problem lasy year.
Try this:
As soon as the machine seems to be stalling, loosen the gas cap.
If the engine continues to run, clean the gas cap vent hole(s).

she is having trouble because she knows them capacitors are going bad...... replace them... but it nay be more than that... dont give up on finding this problem, because you may find a breakthrough!!

Sounds like the coil,pull the shutoff wire off the coil and try it.if you still dont have spark replace coil.

Sounds like a bad thermostat! (A common problem with this model) replace and it should work again!

replace distributor cap and wires

fuel pump, clogged fuel injectors, bad gas.... could also be a timing problem among other things depending on what you mean by sputtering.... my advice find a shop that will diagnose the car for free( like AAMCO). hope this helps :)
