Have no power to anything after pulling dash for heater core replacement.

Replaced water core and after reinstalling the dash I have no power to anything. No headlights, hazard...nothing. Have checked the fuse box under the hood and have power to those fuses, the fuse box under the dash has no power to it. Anyone have a clue what I might have done? I have repulled the dash and made sure everything was hooked up correctly but still have no power. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: headlights and dash light dont work

You would have to check and see if you are getting any power out of the light switch. There is a seperate wire for the headlights and the dash lights.

SOURCE: power windows won t work

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.

96 vw golf gti vr6 just replaced water pump everything was fine until today when it was idling heard a pop then steam started coming from defrost vents antifreeze on passenger side floor

More than likely heater core leak, I assume you are losing coolant. I've changed a couple heater core in my life but nothing like changing the one in the video. I saw 3 videos, and all said you have to pull the dash.

Need a diagram for replacing heater core on 1969 f-250 defrost heater

You have an easy one. Follow the heater hose to the firewall. Remove them. remove the bolts holding the core in place and pull out the core. Reinstall. Newer ones, you have to remove the entire dash.

Only drivers side heat is blowing cool air, passanger side is working fine. are there two different heating untis for this car since it has two separate controls? could it be a sensor or a flap? flap...

No there is one heating unit that has a flap that is controlled by the passenger side vs. driver side cooler or hotter knob or setting, if it's like my Cadillac. It's called a blend door. There is only one heater core that feeds the two separate sides.

Will have to pull the dash, and inspect the vacuum lines and cables.

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core.
Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

I have a 1997 Saturn SL2. I have no heat. We have replaced the thermostat, the water pump and flushed the system. Still no heat! What's next..replacing the heater core or power flushing? If its...

It is your heater core, there is nothing else left.

The heater housing is usually under the dash, and it must be removed to gain access to the heater core.Procedures for removing a dash, and heater core vary. But for the core:
The heater housing must be removed, and then you
"remove the panels" or "split the case"1c3d50c.gif (Usually screwed together.)
Remove the coolant hoses, the cable and vacuum control line.
Remove the heater core bracket and clamps.
To install the new heater core, reverse the removal steps.
Core leaks **** because of the core's location deep within the firewall/ dashboard of the car.
So remember to liquid test your new one before you put it back in, or you could be sorry.

Heater core replaced after replacement fan blowerdid not work

You have two systems. The heater core is a water system and the blower is an electric system.

In order to replace the heater core you had to work on the ductwork. There are a few sensors there and a wire may be unplugged or a sensor may have broke if you reinstalled a plug to a part. You may have to check the continuity of the blower resistor or anything you moved.

Find your fusebox and check for a blown fuse. It may have tripped while you removed the heater core. This would have saved the other parts.

Replacment of heater core on 01 chevy S-10

Have replaced my heater core in my 2001 regular cab 4wd in december 2009. Had to pull the complete dash including the complete metal dash behind the dash that you see. Also had to remove the right passenger side inner fender well to acess the remaining two bolts that hold the heater core cover to the firewall. Its an insane job to do but the repair shop books call for 9 1/2 hrs to do the job. I'm not an expert but this is what it takes.

1996 Dodge Dakota heater doesn't get very hot only gets warm

it could be the heater controls itself i had a 95 ford f150 that did the same thing i replaced everything i could as i live in upstate ny and in the winter it gets pretty cold so replaced all i could ,heater coil, radiator, thermostat, coolant and nothing a local mechanic told me to check the control in the dash to see if it was going all the way to the hot position. i took the dash apart to get to it and checked it and the cable that mmoves the valve on the heater coil was stretched so it wasnt going all the way to hot. not that its the same thing but its a place to start
