Saeco Vienna grinding problem microswitch tests good, what next?

Machine started grinding for too long, coffee grinds left inside machine, etc. Followed instructions to completely clean machine, and removed and tested the microswitch that measures the dosage. It is normally open and when the button is pressed, it closes. All the plastic mechanical parts for the dosage are clean and seem to move properly. Any ideas? Should I replace the switch anyway? Could it be something in the circuit board? Further troubleshooting steps would be great! Thanks.

SOURCE: Won't power up, after cleaning????

There is a switch that shuts the machine off when the door is open, Be sure machine is on and all components in and press the switch manually and see if it comes on. Some times the switch gets cocked to one side and the activator on the door misses it. Let me know

SOURCE: Saeco De Luxe Coarse Grind

You could have knocked it out of its shaft or worse, Cracked the shaft itself.

Settings could be off too, It fairly common. Recheck the chamber, and make sure the plastic casing isn't cracked and the grinder doesn't wabble at all. It should be fairly firm.

If it isn't firm, bad news, cracked shaft.

SOURCE: Saeco Vienna grinding issue

Hi,

I think so, most problem with that the grinder grind to the lamp light up is damp in the grinder or oily beans.

if you have two adjustment knob in the bean hopper then the second problems can be the micro switch in the machine that have to be replaced.

Best regards

SOURCE: Hello. I have a saeco vienna superautomatic

This happens due to condensation caused by steam developed at the end of the grinding cycle. Make sure that the grinding chamber is completely cleaned and dried before using the grinder.

  1. Turn the whole bean chamber to the right until it can be lifted off the base. This will allow you to clean the grinding wheel. NOTE: Never use water or liquid for cleaning the lower grinding section of this appliance.
  2. Clean interior recesses with a soft brush (not provided).
  3. Wash the whole bean chamber and lid and the ground coffee chamber and lid in mild detergent and water. These items are only dishwasher safe on the top rack of your dishwasher. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse mill in water or any other liquid or place in dishwasher. Use only non-abrasive cleaners to remove stains.
  4. After completely drying, replace whole bean chamber. Important: when replacing whole bean chamber, screw on completely before setting grinding rate. Turn chamber clockwise (as viewed from top), until it will not turn. Fill with whole coffee beans for grinding and replace lid.
  5. Replace ground coffee chamber and lid, making sure it snaps securely into place.

It grinds but why won't it advance grounds and why does the red bean light come on?

(Besides the possibility of being clogged) there is also a microswitch which controls when there is enough coffee. If this switch isn't working properly, the machine will keep grinding coffee indefinitely. The microswitch has code XCC5-81 (you can look for it on e.g. Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schalter-Mikroschalter-micro-switch-XCC5-81-P5-Saeco-Incanto-Magic-Vienna-Royal-/301012989303?hash=item4615c5b577:g:EvAAAOSw4CFYyrfB).

My Saeco Vienna at times seems to extract a cup of coffee extremely slowly (drips out). The next cup will come out at a normal rate. I've tried the grind at various settings, but the problem remains. Any...

HI You might need new burrs. When the burrs get dull, they will crush the beans instead of grinding them into small grounds. You start to get powder instead of grinds. They will slow the extraction, but then the next time they will produce the correct shot.

Saeco Vienna. Wet cofffee grinds in the dump box.

It could be the grind on the coffee or the red group o-ring and the 2 o-rings on the white plastic valve need to be replaced.

Saeco Vienna grinds too much coffee.

Hi
If you have the Delux or Digital there are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the small knob back 1 mark and see if that will help.

Long time for drip coffee.

Grinder is set to too fine. Lower grinder settings. Keeping the machine at current settings with drip extraction will result in brew group clogging, gear stripping, and/or dulling of grinder burrs.
