Exiting macro function?

Lens is apparently stuck in its macro setting, and I'm unable to unstick it. I've followed the directions on pp. 12-13 of the user manual to no avail. Any help gratefully appreciated!

SOURCE: Was I sold a 'pup'?

Excerpted from a www.photo.net review of the lens:

Though the Tamron AF 55-200mm Di II LD Macro has "Macro" in its name, it's not really a macro lens. Maximum magnification is about 1/3 life size (Tamron spec it at 1:3.5) as you can see from the following image below, which was shot at 200mm and at the closest focus distance (0.9m/37.4"). This isn't too bad, but it's more of a close focus telephoto lens than a "macro" lens (bolding for emphasis added).

How to repair or unstick Sigma K zoom 100-200mm macro - tele focus stuck at infinity

Remove the lens from the camera, set MF on the lens, try gently to free it by hand. If this works, clean the contacts on the lens and camera body - if not, it needs repair.

The focos is fix on macro

Apparently you have the focus limiter set on the lens. Try switching it off.
If you need more specific details, please reply to this post and give the make and model of your lens.

I just got this lens and it doesn't have the macro switch. It does have an m on it but can't figure out how to set it to macro.

You didn't tell the model of the lens but, if you know it is a macro lens and there is no switch, then you can just focus close and the macro function is automatic. Try it.

My s860 samsung will not focus the pictures are blurry how do I get it to refocus

Use the following steps one at a time and test the camera after each step. Start with a fully charged battery.

1. Make sure you do not have the focus set to "Macro", usually the graphic for Macro is a tulip symbol. Set it on Auto Focus. If that is not the problem, very carefully clean the lens.

2.Power up the camera and when the lens extends, apply a few drops of commercial lens cleaning fluid to a lens cleaning cloth or lens cleaning tissue (not a facial tissue) and gently rub the lens in a circular direction. Then with a dry lens cloth or tissue carefully dry the lens.

3. Make sure you camera's ISO setting is on Auto ISO.

4. Rest your camera to factory default by going to the Settings menu, selecting "Reset", then select "Yes" in the sub-menu.

If none of these steps work, there is damage or a defect in your camera and you must contact Samsung for repair advice.

Blurres LCD image and blurred photos

1 suspect dirt on the lens ensue the lens is cleaned with proper cloth and fluid.
2 suspect auto focus sensor is defective or blocked ensure the little windows on the front are clear and fingers do not cover them while taking pictures.

3 suspect camera is set in macro setting, Macro only has a depth of field of a few centimeters any subject outside this field will be out of focus but his may not be visible on the small viewing screen on the camera but becomes apparent when images are viewed at larger sizes.
change camera setting to landscape or portrait setting.

I got a old milolta af 35-105 (metall body) today, This one: http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=44 I can not move the zoomring, it is stucked in the macro mode area. It seems nice...

From what I remember of this lens there is a macro collar between the aperture ring and zoom/focus control. Just to the left of the 1:4 marking is a locking button, if you press this in it allows the macro collar to be turned to the left and disengages the macro function. The zoom/focus control should then be free to move. Note that the locking button and macro collar can get stiff to operate if the lens has been left that way for a long while.

Hopefully this has fixed your problem, if so please return the favour by rating my answer. If it hasn't then add a comment and I'll try to assist you further.
