Last month I installed the windows 7 RC version. I have always been able to watch movies/TV on my desktop computer even with this OS. I have the Tevion DVB tuner (digital/HD compatible). Yesterday I took the USB out of the hub to change the room my computer was located. As I connected all the wirings back and the USB the TV tuner started to play up. It says I "need to install a hot fix''. For XP it used to be AF9015 BDA driver 8.6.... something. This time it is asking for AF9015 BDA driver 9.6.3.1 which I can't find anywhere. Is anyone able to help me out. I tried installing the other AF9015 ... didn't seem to work.

Hi vahik_avakia,
Download the Windows 7 driver v9.6.3.1 here: www.eecrest.com/Drivers_and_Manual/150win7-driver.rar

Open the 'Drivers' folder after extracting the downloaded rar file & run setup.exe to install only the driver. Else run 'autorun.exe' from root of extracted folder to get separate options to install Blaze HDTV, Driver etc.

Serial for the Blaze HDTV software: TFK5SCK3SASKG-5395UQFW3PPX

Hope this helped.
Mellowmel out.

The best I could find was this website. You need to input the information yourself.
Kind of an out of the way hardware, isn't it? I looked everywhere for drivers for this thing lol.
I think Windows has installed a generic driver, which isn't compatible with your DVB.
If the site didn't help, you can roll back the driver and let me know how that works.
After that, if it doesn' t work, restart the machine. When it starts up, tap F8 and choose: "Last Known Good Configuration".
Comment and let me know how it worked out.

Cannot install MGI PhotoSuite4 on a computer running Windows 7 OS

The PhotoSuite 4 program is very old and won't work under Windows 7. http://sonic.net/mnitepub/pccafe/reviews/photosuite4/photosuite4.html says that the version 4 Platinum edition ran under Win95-Win2000 versions of the Windows OS. Thus even the compatibility mode probably won't help under Windows 7 32-bit. You can try it though by right clicking on the installer and then selecting Properties. In the Compatibility Mode tab, select Always Run this program in the compatibility mode and an older version of Windows. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. (You may have to do this again on the program itself.) Since Win7 64-bit requires signed drivers or programs, it is not as likely to work. (Check your version of Windows 7 by clicking Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the title of your OS ends with x64, you have the 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit OS.)

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate (or upgrade to one of those versions), you can run a virtual version of XP for free. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and then XP mode (in order). This works best if your CPU supports virtualization and you enable the feature in your computer's BIOS. (There are work-arounds for computers without virtualization. See the MS support pages.) Install your PhotoSuite inside the virtual XP program in that case. This old software may run in that case. (However, I've had some Win2K software that ran under XP with the compatibility mode but didn't run under the virtual XP. Note: virtual computers do have some additional limitations. They do not talk to the host hard drive and other hardware directly. (You can install a printer on the host machine or the virtual machine but not both.) You'll need to save files on external media (flash drive, optical disc or other hard drive) to transfer them between the machines).

Another option is to run an older version of Windows on another computer, as a dual boot computer or with Virtual PC (or another virtual computer package - VMWare or Parallels). In that case, you need a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Again install the program while running the older OS.

The final option is to upgrade to a Windows 7 compatible Photo editor and organizer. (Even the Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery has some of the features of Photosuite SE.)

I hope this helps.

I have HP 7700 system, with Vista Operating System. It had issue which resulted to me formating it. Now I cant activate it even online. I keep reinstalling the Vista OS every 30 days. Pls how can I freeze...

Vista sucks anyway, and anything that can run Vista should be able to run Windows 7. This is a blessing in disguise. Buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade and install it.You legally qualify for the upgrade version if your computer came with Vista. You can use instructions here to make the upgrade version work on a clean disk:http://windowssecrets.com/top-story/clean-install-windows-7-from-the-upgrade-disc/

Is my Sony VAIO PCV-RS226 PC Desktop upgradeable to windows 7 ?

it's possible to install windows 7 on your Sony VAIO PCV-RS226 PC Desktop, but your 512Mb memory are insufficient to run properly the operating system. Windows 7 have a power graphic, if you still use a small memory your PC will work very slowly. The solution is:
  1. install more memory to work fast (2*512Mb or more)
  2. don'nt install a game that use more memory, it fatigue the machine and can cause an intermittent problem.

Can i convert a 32 bit to a 64 bit

You can use the Upgrade option during Windows 7 installation, which preserves your files, settings, and programs, only if you're currently running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista and you want to upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 7. Similarly, if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, you can only perform an upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows 7. For more information, go to Upgrading to Windows 7: frequently asked questions on the Windows website.
If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs. For more information about performing a custom installation, see Installing and reinstalling Windows 7‍.
gl_ico.png Notes
  • To install a 64-bit version of Windows 7 on a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files.
  • If you start your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files, but your computer isn't capable of running a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll see a Windows Boot Manager error. You'll need to use a 32-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files instead.
  • Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista but you plan to install a 32-bit version of Windows 7, you can move your files to an external location manually or use Backup and Restore in Windows Vista. For more information, go to Back up your files and

I have an aspire one ZG5 with windows 7 OS but an evaluation copy only!now i want to return my OS to windows XP but the erecovery software is no longer on my laptop!what is the best thing to do?

It appears that you have been using Windows 7 RC (release candidate)
When it was installed, you or whoever performed the installation deleted the recovery partition, from what I can tell.

So, either borrow a disc (OS that matches the one you had originally) and install it using your windows product key.

Or........ Go get Windows 7......that's my best advice, honestly.

I ran the RC and got lucky in October, when I was awarded a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. For most users, Home Premium or Professional (If you like the extra options like the full on backup features) will suffice. Most folks, nearly anyone, has no dire need for the Ultimate version.

I lost connection to my printer. I had installed it on my new windows 7 Compaq notebook computer on 12/17/09. I installed as a network connection with my desktop computer. I even enjoyed wireless...

a new auto update from Microsoft has corrupted your printer drivers and IRQs of your system.
try uninstalling your printer and driver in you Device manager and re-installing it....
the last and the worst option is to reformat ur machine and reload OS and install the printer

1 - keep ur autoupdate in windows turned off
2 - never install printers or any software with your internet connection in ON position
3 always disconnect your broadband/ internet connection when not using your system

Windows 7 beta incompatible??

I have used acronis and win 7 with no issue.

Be aware though that win7 beta has a lot of versions so one may work fine and another maybe not.

As a Technet member I have the latest version and proper key etc.

Pirate versions may be subject to virus and other unwanted side effects.

Problem with philips 713x tv tuner

This is a hardware driver problem.
The final version of Windows 7 has not been released yet, you most likely have the RC copy of Windows 7 (ie Release Candidate - final beta version just before official release) the RC is available to anyone to download and test.
The problem is that not all device drivers are avaiable and if you cannot get a Windows 7 version audio driver from the manufacturer's WEB site at this stage, you have to wait until it is available.

I have windows 7 and it has locked my computer in

Sorry this isn't really a solution, but don't forget that you have either the beta version or the Release Candidate version of a new, as yet unfinished operating system. From the FAQs on the Microsoft Windows 7 site:

"Are there risks to installing the RC?
Yes. While the RC is stable and has been thoroughly tested, it's not the finished product. Your computer could crash and you could lose important files. So please back up your data and please don't test the RC on your primary home or business PC.
Other problems you might encounter include:
  • Software that doesn't install or work correctly, including anti-virus or security programs
  • Printers, video cards, or other hardware that doesn't work
  • Problems accessing corporate or home networks
  • Files may become corrupted "

Personally I don't go near a new OS until it has been released and patched and stable for at least a year.

Playing Flash movies pauses for 1/2 sec every 5-7 seconds

Try this technique: download one of the many free programs from the web that allows you to download the FLV videos onto your computer. Play the video that way. Look for a version that works for your MacBook. Post back your results.
