You can call any GM dealer, but don't try to find an Oldsmobile dealer, GM phased out that division in 2004.

It is located on the back wall right under the alternator and idle pulley! hope this helps and you will need a funnel!
SOURCE: 2002 OLDSMOBILE INTRIGUE GX engine light on
There are many emission sensors in the car that will make the engine light come ON. Not to mention the big list of trouble codes for the engine light.
Best way to find out what's going on engine light is to have an auto-parts store hook up a engine code reader and tell you what the code means and the problem. Most auto-part store will do this for free.

3.8, correct? Look for something like a harness not reconnected (Mass Air Flow sensor, Throttle Position Sensor), or a vacuum line off-there may be an issue with your security system too, so make sure you reset it with your door opener (lock, unlock). Worst case, try disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 5 minutes and reconnect it, start it and let it idle for 5 minutes, then drive it a few more to reset the computer and have it relearn sensors.

You should check for codes since this will probably give you specific clues to your problem, but the motor running might be the air pump, which is supposed to run when you first start up so it can inject fefresh air into the catalytic converter so it reaches 'light off' temp earlier. Also, at the first sign of almost any problem I usually check voltage at the battery when the engine has been sitting for more than an hour (should be 12.5 volts) and running (almost 15 volts at startup, gradually dropping down to about 14.2)-computer controlled cars are extremely sensitive to voltage and if reference voltages are not what the ECU expects, all kinds of things can be out of sorts.
