SOURCE: I am getting an error

For the error 0306, simply remove the lid of your system and clear the dust out/off of the lense and surrounding areas. (i.e. soft cloth, canned air, ect...) Hope this helps!

I would suggest you check the batteries of the remote. If you have replaced them it is possible that the microswitch on the remote might have worn out. Should be a quickfix at a locksmith that has the equipment to test remotes frequency. Good luck

Ok let me verify; you have an HT-520 home theatre with integrated DVD player. When you press the DVD input you can't control certain aspects of the DVD player or the DVD player does not respond at all?

Does the DVD respond at all if you put the remote into another mode (should be called Amp or Receiver)? Can your remote be programmed for different devices and mabe it was programmed to control a different DVD player?

I will search the unit in my knowledge base and let you know some exact steps to try. If you could clarify some of thoes details that would be wonderful.

Thanks,

Kevin

You must have the remote to clear the security code. It will not work by using the keys on the display. here is the method of clearing the code.

1. When you are requested to enter the security code, while
pressing down on [AUTO] key, use a long-press on "track forward >>I" key
for 3 seconds. (----disappears.)
2. Using the remote controller, input “KCAR.”
Press remote controller [5] key 2 times and then press "track forward >>I" key. (Input for “K.”)
Press remote controller [2] key 3 times and then press "track forward >>I" key. (Input for “C.”)
Press remote controller [2] key once and then press "track forward >>I" key. (Input for “A.”)
Press remote controller [7] key 2 times and then press "track forward >>I" key. (Input for “R.”)
3. The security is released and the unit enters the STANDBY
sourcing mode.
4. If a wrong code is input, the unit goes into the Code Request
mode.

If you do not have a remote, you can take it to an authorized kenwood service center and they can do it for a small fee. My shop charges $25. Or you can order a remote from them and do it yourself, or borrow a remote from a friend who has a recent Kenwood model radio, they all work with it if the radio is new in the last 5 years or so.
Since this will clear the code if done properly, a rating of "FixYa" would be appreciated.

Thanks and let me know if you need any more help.
