I have a Samsung SyncMaster 512N monitor that I need a new power cord for. Can I buy a power cord for any SyncMaster model, or are the cords model specific?

There are no drivers on the Samsung site that I could find.
That said, you don't need drivers for your monitor. If your monitor isn't displaying anything with your new computer, try turning your computer completely off, make sure your monitor is turned on and plugged in to the computer, then turning the computer back on. Windows should automatically detect what resolutions the monitor supports and your monitor should start working.
It is just an audio cable with mini stereo phone plugs at both ends. You can get it at the RadioShack. One end goes into the Audio line in at the monitor, and another end goes to the audion line out (Green jack) on the PC SOUND card.
are you mention about the AC adapter or just power cords. For pwer cords is everywhere, but ac adapter you have to know the specification for the power input/output and size of plug since I can't tell the model on your description.
samabbott, Toni, The very first thing to check is Samsung warranty.. If not valid you will need to check and see if Samsung has a cash+old unit swapout program for refurbished same model??? Will this 512N do same thing if connected to different pc? If so, then I would suspect the unit's power supply. Whenever strange or weird stuff starts to randomly take place with an LCD display, I would first check the "switch-mode-power-supply"! Have you tested the pc with different Known Good lcd unit? Try the above stuff and report back with a new comment. 12fixlouie
