Procedure For Setting Time Zones For Emerson Clock Radios

Setting The Time, The First Time
IMPORTANT: The first time you connect your new SmartSet® clock radio to
the AC outlet the internal computer will automatically set the time correctly for
the Eastern Time Zone, which is the initial default setting. The display will
scan for a few seconds and then show the correct Day and Time in the Eastern
zone. If you live in the Eastern Time zone, there’s nothing else to do. Your
clock is set correctly and running.
If you do not live in the Eastern Time zone you must change the default zone
display to your own zone. You only do this one time and the SmartSet® will remember
the new default zone setting and will always return to that setting after a power
interruption.
There are 7 time zones programmed into your SmartSet® clock radio as follows:
ZONE 1 — Atlantic Time
ZONE 2 — Eastern Time (Default Setting)
ZONE 3 — Central Time
ZONE 4 — Mountain Time
ZONE 5 — Pacific Time
ZONE 6 — Yukon Time
ZONE 7 — Hawaiian Time
To change the default time zone display, depress the Time Zone button.
The number “02” will appear on the display
indicating that the default zone is ZONE 2,
Eastern Time

How do i set my alarm and when do i know it is on or off....keeps coming on and i dont know how to shut off the alarm...thank you

This clock radio features a dual alarm system, with two separate alarms that can be operated independently. The alarms can be set to wake two people at different times, or to have a main alarm and a backup. One alarm features your choice of radio stations as an alarm wake sound, while the second features a buzzer wake sound. You can set the radio alarm, the buzzer alarm, or both alarms.
Setting Radio Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button. The display will flash and the Radio Alarm Indicator will appear. If you do not begin setting the time within ten seconds of pressing the it, the display will stop flashing andd you will need to press the "alarm Set Button again. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time. Hold a button for a few seconds to advance the time rapidly. Be sure to set the correct AM/PM time, as shown by the PM Indicator. 3. After setting the radio alarm time, you will need to select the station to wake up to. First, press the "AM/FM" Button to select a radio frequency. Next, select a station using the "Radio Preset Buttons". Rotate the Volume Thumbwheel to set a wake sound volume level. 4. After setting the radio alarm wake time and sound, you will need to select your 7-5-2 setting. The 7-5-2 setting lets you set the alarm for a full week, weekdays only, or the weekend. Before setting the alarm, be sure that the correct date is set. 5. After you have set the radio alarm wake time, wake sound, and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button twice so that the display shows the standard, non-flashing display.
Setting Buzzer Alarm
1. Press the "Alarm Set" Button twice. The display will flash and the Buzzer Alarm Indicator will appear. 2. While the display flashes, press the "Tuning/Set" Buttons to set the wake time, as described above. 3. After setting the buzzer wake time, use the "Date/7-5-2" Button to select the buzzer. 4. After you have set the buzzer wake time and 7-5-2 setting, press the "Alarm Set" Button once so that the display shows the standard, non- flashing display.
Activating the Alarms

As long as this indicator appears, the alarm will sound at the set time and days. 3. To turn off an alarm and cancel its 7-5-2 settings, press its "Alarm Button" so that its Alarm Indicator no longer appears on the display. 4. To activate the snooze feature, press the "Snooze/Night-Light" Bar when the alarm sounds. The alarm will shut off for approximately nine minutes before sounding again. The feature can be repeated several times during the one-hour snooze cycle. 5. If it is not turned off, the alarm will sound for an hour before stopping. As long as an Alarm Indicator appears on the display, the alarm will sound at the set time, according to the 7-5-2 settings.

I find the controls very confusing and when attempting to set the clock to the day's time, usually end up changing the preset radio channels or mistakenly set an alarm that goes off during the night... are...

Press "set" one time to set alarm one, two times to set alarm 2, and 3 times to set the time. Use the "tune/time" buttons for forward and backward. If you wait too long to push one of them or stop too long, it will time out and go back to the last setting.

Be sure to press "set" when you are done, before it resets to the prior setting.
