Nikon no longer has the D100 manual on line; but if it is like the more modern Nikons, you will be able to select the resolution in mp from one of your camera's built in menus.

I assume you mean the 'bulb' setting. The selector dial needs to be set to 'M'. By using the wheel under the release button, rotate it counter-clockwise till you see 'bulb'

SOURCE: Nikon d100 tok several pictures and they are not on card

It sounds like it may have reformatted itself and if thats the case, they are gone. Some camera's have the option built in, then again, your computer might have done it when plugged into the card reader. I hope this can help shed some light on what may have happened, but sorry to say, if the memory card is now empty, chances are slim on recovering the pics.

are you shooting in raw format? and in hi resolution or low resolution ? If you are shooting in RAW then the buffer of the d100 is full and it needs to empty its buffer before you can shoot anymore pictures

SOURCE: everything seems to work fine but will not take a picture, Nikon D100

test the memory card, if is full or corrupted. Try to probe in another camera or some machine like wallgreen for reproducing.
God bless you
