The very 1st color setting (as well as The very 1st backlight setting) will enact "color changing mode". This ONLY works at the beginning of the sequence.
Wait 15 secs to see colors change..

0 = lights off
1 = lights on & color changing is active
2 = color 1
3 = color 2
4 = color 3... and so on.

SOURCE: electric fireplace does not heat

I have a cheap electric fireplace bought in SuperCentre store-heater no longer works. It says its a one piece system. Can these heaters be replaced or repaired(probably made in China) or am i better off scrapping it and buying a new one?

SOURCE: I have a pyromaster electric fireplace model HEF

Unplug the motor wire connector and jump it with a 9V. battery. If the motor spins it's good. Chances are the FLAME SPEED CONTOL (Part Number 10001589) circuit board is bad. I had to replace mine. It's at the bottom of the fireplace behind the contols panel.

Good Luck

Portable Heat Flame Electric Fireplace

Electric fireplaces are becoming more and more popular with today's homeowner's. The main advantage of the electric fireplace is generally portability, convenience, low initial cost is important. They also are a good choice when the looks are not as important as function.
Some electric fireplaces have simulated flames that give the look of traditional fireplaces. Another great option to include is a built-in fan to help distribute the heat more effectively. With some of these high end units it can be very hard to tell the difference between an electric fireplace and a wood burning stove. Along with this option may come a heatless setting the will give the look of flames but produce no heat. The remote control has also found its way to the fireplace market. There are many units that can be remotely controlled.
Electric fireplaces are generally cheaper than gas fireplaces. A good unit can be bought for about $500 (there are cheaper models available, but they tend to have fewer options and the flames are not as real looking). These fireplace units are fairly easy to install compared to a gas fireplaces or wood-burning stoves (both of which usually need flues to vent). If you can plug in an electric cord then this type of fireplace may be for you. The electric units are perfect for apartment buildings and condominiums. These places are not suitable for the traditional wood fireplace.
Just like other types of portable electric heaters, electric fireplaces will radiate heat very quickly extreme care must be taken to not have any combustibles too close to them.
You will see how an electric fireplace can transform any setting for you. The newest modern, advanced electric units have far more aesthetically appealing views. They might include fiber optic displays, or randomized lights designed to make the look of dancing flames.
Now whether you're living in a condo or apartment and can't have a real fireplace, the electric fireplace can be a great way to get some of the warmth and ambiance. Also remember that these units are very portable, so you can take them with you when it's time to move. Even though I have never been a big fan of electric fireplaces, because of the expense of their operation, I can see why they would be very popular with many apartment or condos owners.

Flame Electric Fireplace Electric Fireplace Heat

Fireplaces have become the heart of the home, a warm place to gather with friends and family. Fireplaces turn any blank wall into a gorgeous focal point. A fireplace fits any decor and is a stylish addition to any room. Electric fireplace logs have improved greatly over the past few years and now days can look so good that they can fool people into believing that they are looking at a real fire, something which is especially true when you have crackling effect of fireplace logs, which aim to imitate the sound of a real fire.

Even though electric fireplaces do not generate flame, most provide the effect of a fire, which ranges from an orange light shined through plastic logs to simulate the appearance of coals burning, to an elaborate flame projection on the doors of some of the free-standing models. If you need a fireplace to heat your home you may want to consider a gas fireplace for better efficiency. If you need a fireplace for more decorative purposes a cheap electric burning unit might better suit your needs. The electric fireplace has experienced a quantum leap from those electric logs with reflective tin foil drums that adorned the hearth while the lava lamps were in vogue. An electric fireplace can add a great deal to a home, in terms of both form and function, and are also very effective at heating up a room.

Electric fireplace heaters simulate the look of a fireplace, but don't actually burn gas or wood like a traditional fireplace. Electric fireplace inserts simply fit into existing fireplaces and provide an artificial fire that creates the warmth and ambiance you want with just a flip of a switch. A modern electric fireplace insert does not require any type of venting system and many units are portable.

Even though these fireplaces do not generate flame, most provide the effect of a fire, which ranges from an orange light shined through plastic logs to simulate the appearance of coals burning, to an elaborate flame projection on the doors of some of the free-standing models. They plug into the wall, and can run on a "flame only" setting, or can be used as a heater, typically with 4,500–5,000 BTU (4,700–5,300 kJ), that can heat a 400 sq ft (37 m2) room. Since there is no real flame or combustion taking place, electric fireplace heaters release no toxic fumes or dangerous gases.

Everyone knows that a fireplace is about more than heat, especially when you're looking at a real fire, when one of the most entrancing things about it is the fact that you can see real flames. Most electric logs use a standard 110 volt power source, and come with various levels of flame of brightness. By choosing a really good set of electric fireplace logs, and particularly those which have a crackling effect and real flames, you can be assured that your fireplace will not be simply a unit in the room to make the room feel warm, but will be something that you enjoy looking at as well.

Electric fireside inserts are also a good option if there are issues with your hearth which make them a hazard with wood burning fires. Electric fireplace log inserts typically include an electric fireplace log set and an ember bed, and inserts are incredibly easy to install. Electric fireplace inserts are safe and clean. Most importantly whether you choose a modern electric fireplace or any other type make sure it will be most cost effective and suitable for its purpose in your home.

Bad electric fireplace thermostat??

I worry about the power strip. Any electrical load is bad news for power bars. Significant fire hazard. (Think like a space heater under a desk... The load of the heater will overload the power bar over time.)
Plug directly into a wall outlet and test again.
If you are forced to using an extension cord, it MUST be heavier than the power cord to the fireplace model.

Cheers,

Doc

Gas fireplace manuals

There are two things that control flame height gas volume and air volume. Some fireplaces have a flame control knob on the gas valvd to adjust flame height. Air volume is controlled by an air shutter usually located where the main gas orifice enters the burner. There is usually a small cover that will need to be removed to access the shutter. Closing the shutter will cause the flames to become taller and more yellow colored. Closing the shutter too far will cause sooting problems so great care should be taken in adjusting this shutter.As a rule, L.P. gas fireplaces do not have as high of a flame as natural gas unit do.
Hope this helps
