Are you using Google to search with? You can change what your searches actually search for. Find the app that says Google settings/ then Search & Now/ then Phone Search. Just touch the box to the right of whatever you don't want to come up and it should fix your dilemma.

open web browser and go to www.google.com and just type in what you are looking for

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Google Play > Un-install Updates

This will remove Google Play from your phone and have it back to the default Android Market. Search Angrybirds Star Wars, Seasons etc and download. It will download.

The microphone for the nexus 7 is a small hole on the right hand side of the tablet, just below the volume button. Make sure your hand and any cases you're using aren't covering this when you're trying to do a voice search.
