This is always because people buy modern SD Cards that are far too bit for older cameras. The maximum size for an SD Card is 2GB. Also you must format the card inside the camera.
The error may be caused by ... - the SD card is corrupted - the camera doesn't support the SD card's size or format - the SD card contacts (to the camera) is faulty - the SD card has (content) specifications (e.g. read/write speed) that is not compatible with those that the camera support ... e.g. camera expects a Class 6 or higher, and your card is Class 2
Check the camera manual - specifications, to see if it matches and support the SD card (format, size, storage capacity, etc.) Check the SD card specification to see if it matches.
Try cleaning SD card connectors with clean rag, and blow some dust out of a SD card connecting place, if it doesnt work try checking that SD card on some other camera, if it works take your camera to service, if SD card doesnt work on othar camera than SD card is broken.
The "E30" error code indicates reading/writing data on a SD card has failed.
Especially, the error code "E30" may appears when you tried to remove a SD card while the camera was processing data.
Solution
To clear the "E30" error, try performing the following procedure.
1. Try using another SD card.
If you have another SD card, try loading it in the camera.
If the error code is not displayed when the other SD card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera.
2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the SD card for errors.
Use ScanDisk to check the SD card for card error or card failure.
Refer to the instruction manual for your operating system or Windows Help for further instructions.
(If you are using a Macintosh, use the "Disk First Aid" program to check for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your Macintosh OS for further information.)
Be sure to back up the data on the SD card on the computer before you check the SD card.
If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card.
Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem.
3. Format the SD card with your camera
Try to format the SD card with your camera.
Please refer to the "Camera User Guide" for your camera for instructions on formatting SD cards. Also, please note that formatting a SD card will erase all data on the card.
Once the SD card is formatted, follow the procedure described in step 2 above and use your computer's ScanDisk on your computer to check the SD card for errors.

Perform the following procedures when your digital camera does not detect the SD card.
1. Restart the camera
Turn the main power OFF, or open the battery cover or SD card/battery cover to remove the battery. Make sure the SD card is fully installed. Then, turn the main power ON, or insert a battery again and close the battery cover or SD card/battery cover until it latches.
2. Initialize the SD card
Format the SD card with your camera.
Formatting procedures varies depending on the camera model. See the Camera User Guide supplied with your camera for the instruction to format the SD card.
When formatting the SD card, slide its tab upward to cancel write protection.
It is impossible to format the SD card while it is write protected.
3. Check if your camera detects other SD cards (If you own multiple SD cards.)
If your camera does not detect the SD card after performing the procedures 1 and 2, check if the camera detects other SD cards.
If it does detect other SD cards, the SD card that wasn't detected may contain some problem.
