Does my 1974 dodge dart with a 318 motor have a fuel return line on it fuel sending unit?

Hey Jim,I see that it is showing 2 types at auto part stores. You can see the return line on the one with it,the way to find out is when you change you will see.Not good to buy in advance, may have to order.
  1. Usually a pump with a return will have a separate connection to go from the pump back to the cell. If yours has that connection ,I would put the return line back to the cell on it.
A return line is nothing more than excess fuel being returned to the cell.

Not much information to go on. first thing to check is the date on the fuel cell. On the bottom of the fuel cell you will find a use before this date. fuel goes bad. next is tomake sure the battery is fully charged (light on tool should be green when you put battery in). With fastners in tool depress on wood. Now you should hear the fan start. Pull trigger and it should fire. If t doesn't, make sure there is not a jambed nail. Open quick release on front of tool. Remove jambed nail push driver back inside tool with small screw driver. Try to fire tool again, you may have to lift the tool again off the wood and press back down. when doing this you are putting fuel in the chamber and you might have to do it more than once. Hope this helps. please give more information if it des not. Good luck

Does a chevy cavalier 2.0 fuel pump put out same pressure as 1998 dodge neon 2.0 dohc?

if its a racing fuel pump than it will have more BUT that will do you no good if you dont have racing fuel injectors, fuel rail, bigger intake manifold, bigger throtle body, and your mapping tuned in with a flashable pcm$$$$$$$$$$$$. stock fuel programing will let it run stock no matter how much pressor your fuel pump puts out. fuel injectors are solenoids that the pcm opens and closes they dont stay open. BUT IT WILL WORK

The heater will not light the kerosene starts then the ignitor lights then shuts off I tried repeatedlyto fire it no luck I think it might be an air adjustment

Here is the manual that will help you sort it out.

http://www.bealsmotor.com/Desa%20Hot%20Surface%20Manual.pdf

I think you have a photo cell or fuel issue as it ignitor trips but you do not get fuel.
Make sure you check the seal in the tank cap (Closed tightly) and the 2 hoses from the tank for cracks. The fuel system works via the 2 tubes. One is pressure the 2nd is fuel supply. Any leaks via either hose or the fuel cap will prevent fuel flow.

You may have to clean the fuel nozzle also. Just make sure to clean the photo cell carefully before putting it back together.

Unless you have an air filter(s) that is horribly clogged taking care of the above should get you going again.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

I HAVE A R165DT{MULTI FUEL USE} READY HEATER. HEATER IGNITORCOMES ON BUT WHEN FAN COMES ON AND FUEL STARTS COMING OUT HEATER QUITS. HAVECLEANED THE PHOTO CELL, CHECKED FUEL LINES,FILTERS, AND JUMPED PHOTO...

sounds like your pressure is too low. on the back of your heater is a yellow plug with a slot for a screwdriver. turn it about a full turn and see if it will run. the other yelow plug is where you can put in a pressure gauge and see the pressure of your pump. you should put a gage in the hole and then turn the other plug unitil you increase the presure and a 1/2lb.

Wont start

could be alot of things.. no ingintion/plug wires in wrong order,no fuel, really bad timing. i would check to see if your getting fuel by either checking the pressure release valve on the fuel rail/fuel line and push in the valve and fuel should squirt out or press the gas and see if fuel comes out of the carb. check the ignition by unhooking a plug wire and putting it close to the plug or distrubitor and look for the spark. check the plug firing order (find the order online or in a manual and check what is on the vehicle). if you can adjust the timing on the distrubitor adjust it and try starting it to see if it helps
