Water is not pumping up to the reservoir. If i manually put water in the reservoir it will make ice.

Some things I have seen that causes this issue:
A. Plug not sealing properly in the bottom of the water reservoir
B. An issue dealing with the circulation pump. Maybe splashing water out of the reservoir while running due to crack in pump housing, especially around impeller, or hose that feeds water from recirculation pump to cold plate has a crack/split/loose connection.

Have you already check to see any ice blockage in the fill spout tube, this is the hose that caries the water into the freezer section and to the icemaker. If the elbow & tube has a ice blockage, it is usually best to replace the fill valve and the shut off valve. You can try to thaw it using use a turkey baster to spray hot water into the tube.Also there is a solenoid that lets water into the ice cube maker, have a professional check it to make sure its working correctly. Please remember your safety in doing checking and repair.

Most "new" fridges with water dispensers and ice instruct the consumer in there manuals to "bleed" the reservoir by running a couple of large pictures of water thru it. I usually recommend dumping the first few harvest's of ice as well (I believe this is also mentioned in most manuals too). once that is done the water should be fine as any contaminants in the system/reservoir should be gone. you may try changing the filter after this, but it shouldn't be necessary. most ice makers do not have there supply water travel thru the water dispenser reservoir however. the water filling the ice tray should have no baring on the water you dispense into a glass to consume.

There is no solution. I have three kitchenaid ice makers and they do not work. The 18inch was under warranty. I had it serviced every friday until warranty ran out. I put an inline filter on the machine and it ran like a charm for three months, which is a first. It's out again! The two 15 inch same thing... inline filter and it worked for a month. Yes I have cleaned the machine over and over with appropriate products. It will turn on water fills but it appears as though the pump is not moving the water. Either way the machine worked correctly for two years only for the 15 inch and for the 18 inch one year.

Is there a water filter on the system? also the line might be clogged from the inlet to reservior

The water circulating pump may have gone bad, or control board is not working properly.
