Shutters on the lens won't fully open

Stuck automatic lens covers are fairly. But usually it's very easy to fix, without even opening the camera. See this link for troubleshooting steps for this problem.

Sony dsc-w190 won't turn on

The system control board has shut the camera down to prevent damage, the lens housing will need to be replaced because you have two problems, one the lens is jammed and second the shutter is open, the cost to repair will be equal if not more than a new one.

Hi,
Try removing the camera battery.Press several times on the power button.Re-load battery and power the camera.

Camera lens cover won't open when you turn the camera on. Says "power off then on" but still stuck

This kind of problem occurs if camera dropped on floor that broke lens mechanism OR lens mechanism got dust particles that make it stuck.
Usually lens mechanism needs to be replaced to solve the issue, however, user level try to solve the problem is to tap camera on your palm a few time gently that may release stuck lens mechanism and it start working again, if that does not help then lens assembly will be replaced.

Lens is stuckpartly open power button does nothing-won,t turn off

mine has done this and I have grabbing the lens and pulling it out at the same time as I turn it on. It is a pain but it now works

Lens shutter is getting stuck when camera is turned on

Mine was doing that when I sent it in to have the lens/screen problem repaired. The camera was part of a class action lawsuit and the repair was free and fast via Sony, but since then I've had issues with power. The camera won't stay on!

Hi...
The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.
