Well, 2 things, there is a lock keypad slider on the side of the phone, once you slide this even if you restart the phone, the keypad still wont work, try sliding this into the unlock position, if this does not work...well best bet is that the connector cable for the keypad is dislodged, broken or the contacts on it need to be cleaned, whatever the case, you will need to carefully disassemble the phone and unplug everything, clean with rubbing alcohol, reassemble and it should work, Hope this helps

Samsung SGH J-750 has no sound, no ringtones etc when the slide is flipped on, but when it is closed, you can't hear any sound. Is there any settings to activate its speaker again when the slide is open?

Hi,the bitter truth is that there is no settings that activates the speaker of the phone when slide open or closed, the problem is from the flex connector cable which is associated with the sliding of the phone, the flex cable needs to be replaced,However you have to disassemble your phone to get the flex cable.
You can get a well detailed description of how to disassemble your phone and how much the flex cable costs at;www.formymobile.co.uk
Thanks and take care

LG display is completly black, however the phone works

The problem is either in the the flex ribbon connector, connector terminals or LCD itself. Disassemble the unit then check the flex ribbon connector for any crack or damage. If no apparent damage is found, clean both the flex terminals and the connector terminals. Resoldering the connector terminals is also suggested. If no result, LCD is damaged, replace it.

NOKIA N95 8GB NO DISPLAY BKEY PAD LIGHTS ON

The LCD display has most likely failed or the internal connection to it has been dislodged.

Without special tools and equipment there is nothing you can do to fix this properly, although a dislodged connector can sometimes be temporarily reseated by giving the phone a sharp sideways tap. Doing this can also completely dislodge the connector, but as the display no longer works you have nothing to lose.

If the sharp tap solution brings the display back then all you've done is to confirm that you probably won't need a new LCD display but either way the phone will still need a professional repair.

Sorry to disappoint you but sadly not everything is fixable on a DIY basis.

Lens stays out

E18 is lens error. When the lens will not retract and camera is not functional (no picture on display, and does not shoot) , and you already tried replacing batteries with a new fresh set (ensure please) , and then restarting camera with no memory card inside, then camera is faulty.

Try an easy fix by pushing gently the lens (do not force them, just help them) while you turn off camera at same time. Try also switching the mode selector.

If still no luck , then the camera must be disassembled to fix the problem.

Possible reasons are :

  • Faulty lens mechanism or jammed lens (camera usually turns off by itself in this case)
  • Main board faulty.
  • Ribbon cable to main board broken or connector defective.
  • If there is no power at all it is the connector from batteries to main board, this is also a ribbon cable.

If the camera is less than one year old will be replaced by manufacturer.

If your warranty is expired you can get an estimate for repair from manufacturer, or from a third party like Advance Camera here :Advance Camera Repair you can book the repair online.

Got a laptop Aspire 7520, laptop loads starts up fine but the screen has gone black, can hardly see the desktop display. have tried adjusting the brightness of the laptop but still desktop display can not...

To fix this problem it will require you to physically open up your laptop , which will probably void you warranty , so please get this replaced under warranty if possible , if your not worried do the following.

Remove all the screws holding the laptop's shell together and open up behind the laptops screen , there are two connectors here which you will require to check , the power connector which is a small black connector and the more prominent video ribbon connector make sure these two cables are connected properly,

You may discover that you have a faulty LCD screen either get it replaced by a trained technician or do it your self (your halfway there anyway)

You may also find that the cables became dislodged and this fixed your problem.

Though it could also be a software issue probably within the graphics cards application , i see you have checked brightness but have you checked all options to change it ?

This is a hard one

Goodluck

Faulty DC power connector

First pulling a machine apart takes time and careful disassembly - it is easy to snap off fragile plastic panels or rip cables and replacement parts can easily cost as much as paying someone to disassemble it for you. Usually a jack repair is $100-$150 depending on the shop.

Toshiba's are a multilayered setup - You have to remove all the screws from the bottom (note that they are labeled by screw length next to each hole - do NOT put the wrong length in when reassembling!!) Make sure to remove the hard drive and ram cover and check for screws there are well.

After all the screws are out of the bottom, remove the panel above the keyboard. Remove the keyboard and all the screws under the keyboard. Then you can get at the motherboard and power jack.

You will probably have to remove the motherboard to replace the jack - Usually the mounting screws for the motherboard are not so clearly labeled - i mark the holes with a sharpie when pulling a mainboard.

Good luck!
