I got Ubuntu 32 ISO image on USB and Put USB into Laptop to Boot from. A Purple image appears and I hit space. I select English and then I select "Install Ubuntu". The Hard disk grunts a bit - the Laptop restarts and I'm back to the Purple image.
Your graphics adapter only supports Open GL 1.5 and under Linux it supports Open GL 2.1. If you're running a 32 bit system of windows the recommendation is to create the USB in a 64 bit environment
Testimonial: "Thank you for answering my query. If my graphics adaptor is not contemporary am I pretty much dead in the water? Presently I have no OS as my Window 10 insider hub temporary licence has expired. As per Ubuntu's web site the 32bit version seemed more appropriate for my old laptop."
I did that too and the way I got it in was to burn the usb to a disc , then run the disc . the installer wizard took over and I had both win 7 and ubantu on the pc
