I get a black square on my screen after about 30 seconds when I tune to some channels. Does not do it on every channel. If I tune to another and then back it will be gone but soon reappears. jd

This sounds like your closed caption has been activated. There are several closed caption options that aren't used for anything, and if you select one by pressing the cc button on your remote by mistake, it will cause the problem you're having. To fix the issue, locate the cc, ccd, or closed caption button on your remote. Press it until you the option "off" appear on the screen. Once you see "off," simply stop pressing the button and the word "off" will disappear.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

How do i change the frequency on my car radio

At the bottom of your info screen you will see a series on almost square selector buttons, these select your channel presets and slightly below them above the cassette player and left of center will be your tuning/track buttons with little arrows for channel up or down. Select your preference a.m. or f.m., then with the tune /track buttons, then use the buttons to tune to the desired station. then push and hold for 3 seconds on the button position at bottom ledge of the info screen to lock your selection.

Full screen view

in order to get the full HD experience you should be using HDMI cables. if you're using the white/red/yellow cables then your HD channels will not broadcast in full HD and you'll be stuck with the annoying black things around your screen

Black screen keeps popping up

If a black box appears on the screen, and a small amount of the picture is visible around the border, it means that your closed captions are on and set to TEXT. Go back into the menu, navigate to the closed captions page and set the captions to OFF.
