Question about Apple 3-Year AppleCare for iBook/MacBook Series (MA519LLA) Mac Notebook

PowerBook Aluminum 17" not restarting after SLEEP MODE.

After being in the SLEEP MODE for awhile, my PowerBook Aluminum 17"  is not restarting... I have to plug in my adapter (65 watts) and wait a few  minutes.  Could this be due to a faulty PRAM battery?
I have also heard about the PMU board in other models... does the  Aluminum 17" have such a board which deals with charging the  battery and related functions.

It does, but its not a fault, its a component. You may need to zap your pram or reset the pmu. when the power cable is plugged in, does the battery light flash on the bottom fo the machine confirming its charging? When you press power, does the caps lock key light up after being pressed? if your battery ( extenal ) is faulty, your machine should still power off the auxilary cable. the power cable bypasses the battery when plugged in. Do you keep youpower cable plugged in for extended times regularly, that kills batteries. make sure youre cycling properly.

Sounds like you have done all you can. The hard drive should be ok and still work in an external case so you can transfer the data to a new machine. Good luck!

My powerbook g4 wont start

Your computer is booting into single user mode.

Try to boot from the CD the computer shipped with.

Insert CD and restart the computer holding the "c" key
Your computer should boot.

If so run disk utility from the cd and repair the disk as well as permissions.
If this is successful your computer "should" be repaired. If it still has problems booting, Use your CD to perform a Archive and install which should keep all your personal settings and installed software intact.

Goes to sleep

Hi

Pls check the power option settings in control panel.

Also pls check if the power management options for keyboard and mouse in device manager are enabled or not.

Pls try to create a new profile and check if the sleep mode is working in the new profile.

Pls try a System restore if the above steps don't work.
