Is the shaft seated into the engine all the way and is the gearbox (where the weedeater head attaches) shoved onto the shaft far enough? There’s a set-screw holding the gearbox into place.
the trimmer head is a left hand thread
make like you are doing it up to undo it
remove all the trimmer parts down to a shaft then fit the plastic blade attachment
Curved shaft trimmers turn clockwise.. straight shaft trimmers turn Counter Clockwise. Also the Bump head is reverse threaded because of the engine rotation.
When using this trimmer , Angle the right side of the string line down so the grass gets thrown in front of you not at your legs.
Enter a 6mm pin throught the top of the gearbob ( there is a hole in the housing to take it ) turn the trimmer head so asthe pin enters the driver flange below and locks it, now grab the complete trimmer head and turn clockwise ( left hand thread ) the trimmer head will unscrew from the output shaft and come away.
Once you have the string wound onto the spool, place the spool onto the shaft and pull the strings out of the slots so that the string feeds through the holes without going through the slots. Good luck...Lee
The shaft cable has either come loose at the head, or is broken at the engine most likely. Is this a 2 piece unit? If so, see if the cable turns with the grass trimmer section removed. If so, it is usually easiest to just replace the trimmer shaft section. One piece units require disassembly at the engine, and if you are not mechanically inclined, that can be a pain.
You may not have the drive shaft seated all the way into the power head. You will have to loosen up the drive shaft and push the shaft in but at the same time turning the trim head to fit it into the drive area, then tighten it back down.
