Wow, what a nice radio! Very complicated controls, here is a link to the operating manual. I suspect the radio is showing a memory channel number instead of the frequency. It should be easy to fix, but long manual. If you cannot find it in the manual, erase or "clear" all memory entries.

Sounds like the DOT problem, the freq counter shows a dot where every digit should be.. I have one ts-440sat here with the same problem.. In my opinion its not worth fixing, there are guys on ebay selling the dot repair service for 280.00 and shipping but even If they did fix it, you are still stuck with a 350.00 radio when you goto sell it.. when its all said and done a Icom 718 is 580.00 new and they are cheaper used.. and they are 20 years newer. newer technology.. Sorry if its not what you wanted to hear. I know someone will be upset that i dont have praise for the ts 440 radio but. there comes a time you have to quit throwing good money into old technology.
