You first have to identify which part or parts that have failed before you order anything. Have a qualified technician look at it to see if it's worth repairing.

A DVD - R disk means DVD Read disk, therefore, in order to burn a DVD you will need a DVD RW (meaning Read + Write)

Burn DVD

Read on your optical drive. If it burns CD's it reads CD-RW. In order to burn DVD's it needs ro read DVD-RW. If it reads DVD-ROM it will only read DVD's not burn them.

A good external burner is Plextor. You can get one at Walmart, or you can check Ebay and find an internal to replace the one in your machine. They are fairly easy to replace, and you won't have a bulky external to carry around.

Burning a data dvd

ok.. use a trick to do so.
The nero or Roxio use the files names in shorted order.

So rename your first file as TVSHW0001, TVSHW0002,..... and show on
Then burn your DVD.
I think it will solve.........:))

Thanks
