If you're preparing to reinstall Windows XP you will need to locate your copy of the Windows XP product key - also known as the CD key. Normally this product key is on a sticker on your computer or located with the manual that came with Windows XP.
If you've lost your product key, it's located in the registry but is encrypted and not readable, making finding it difficult. The key was not encrypted in previous versions of Windows like Windows 98.
Search on google " Free Product Key Finder Programs" and donwload one.
If you downloaded this software from the company after paying for it, they should have given you any serial number or installation key you would need. Contact their customer service with your purchase information and they will help you.
If you've just downloaded this from a peer-to-peer network or it's otherwise not a legitimate copy and you're looking for a serial number, we can't help you here.
I can recommend a free alternative to Nero if you are looking for a disc burning program: CDBurnerXP That's the program I use. I've had Nero and Roxio both, and in my opinion this one's better. And did I mention it's free?
Some software is written that you can only install it once, twice, etc. The manufacturer of your software obviously has limited the number to one. Over the years software companies have tried to prevent people from pirating their software and selling and/or installing it on multiple computers. Contact the manufacturer and tell them that your old computer crashed, so you bought a new one and want to install it on the new computer and if they're worth anything they will give you a new license key for free. I hope this helps and good luck!
